How to preform Link's Bomb Jump ?

Well we all know link's normal recover isn't very decent but, so I've been trying to recover using his bomb. Problem is I can't land it slightly under him, instead the bomb would just be thrown down quickly. Anyone help me with this? Also lets say I am able to land the bomb slightly under him; which move should I use to make contact with the bomb?

I've watched tutorials on YT but haven't found any that could help me with my issue :s.

Just for a reminder, here's the procedure (from the Smash Index):

Q: How do I do Link's Bomb Recovery?

A: Assuming you have been sent far off the stage, do the following:
1) Jump and pull out a bomb.
2) Lightly throw the bomb beneath you, maintaining forward momentum.
3) Use a B-Air to hit the bomb.
4) DI the explosion for additional distance.
5) Still fail to recover >_>

As you see in number 2, you need to lightly throw the bomb, which simply means that you shouldn't fully tilt your joystick down.
