How do you pass the time Wobbling?

For all you Wobblers out there, how do you pass the time Wobbling?

A few ideas popped into my head:

1.) Chatting with your buddy next to you.

2.) Asking the person being Wobbled about their day.

3.) Have a verbal argument with the person being Wobbled/the booing crowd watching.

4.) Using your free legs to kick at the outraged people booing at you/the enraged person in the Wobbles from getting close to your controller.

5.) Using the beat of the Wobbling A Button to make a song/rap.

You gotta pass the time in some way or another. I'm sure you Wobblers do something.

For the ones being Wobbled, how do you pass the time?

Here are my ideas:

1.) Chatting to your buddy until you've lost the stock.

2.) Talking to the Wobbler about everyday life.

3.) Getting the crowd to do something to bother the Wobbler.

4.) Since grabbing the controller isn't really allowed, how about blowing into the Wobblers face?

5.) Singing/rapping along to the beat of the Wobbling A Button.

For you guys being Wobbled, you guys must do something.

Wobbling/Being Wobbled, etc. - For all those you don't know - Wobbles and any forms of the word have to do with the Ice Climber infinite.

I did not invent it. My friend, who learned it before I did, did not invent it. It's been known for more than 2 years now, and I'm the first person to bother taking it to a big tournament because I don't care if people like my style of play.

Furthermore, I did not ever call it wobbling. But, it's awesome, so keep doing it, if you don't mind.

Edit:

On topic, while I do the infinite, I stand up and wobble. Or I focus very intently on what I'm doing. On occasion, I look over at my opponent and stare at them while shaking my head, as if to say "do you really think you can escape?"

If I feel that the opponent has been unkind to me in previous encounters, sometimes I stand up and pelvic thrust with each push of the A button, saying "oh yeah, oh baby, oh right there" and when I down-smash I scream out "OH YEAH" like the Kool-aid man in orgasm. Then I sit down and start breathing heavy, look at my opponent and say, "wanna do it again?"

Final note: I hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure this topic is useless ^_^

Know your Smash history, kiddies. M3D (yes, the M3D who used to run MLG's smash events) was the first person to post a video about the IC Infinite. I do not know if he actually invented it himself, but all credit goes to him for bringing it to the community.

Here is a link to the historic video.

EDIT: but yes, "Wobbling" is a much better than saying "infinite grab." All the cool kids are doing it!

Time for IC History 101:

As far as I know it was "invented" or rather first seen in one of Tetsuya's combo vids. There's some super old thread where some scrub was complaining about his friend using an inescapable grab. In fact its probably still there, lemme go check....

Aha, here it is... April 2004, wow. Cory cites that he had seen this only once before in a Tetsuya combo vid, and M3D asks if someone could make a video of it. On the 2nd page M3D finishes the very first video dedicated to the infinite grab (now known as the wobbles and shares it on DC++. Omnigamer reveals that the infinite grab isn't truly infinite due to frame data and hit lag (not too sure if this has been proven). M3D then gives reason after some testing on why the infinite grab SHOUDLN'T be banned, unless people could get it consistant... this might need to be addressed. Several names were coined for the infinite grab at that time"grab-infinite (various)" "the trap (M3D)" "infini-grab (Omnigamer)" "toebiter (vidjogamer)" "toebiter trap" (M3D/Cory)" "ICs Hammer Trap (Z-Non)" Ok that about does it. Class dismissed.

The thread

Oh, in response to the initial question, the funniest thing to do is just stare at the opponent with a really straight face. Then after you kill them ask them what happened cause you weren't watching the screen. lol, I really like the toebiter trap, I think I'm gonna start calling it that.

I'd hit the A button and twist the control stick. You never know when they could mess up. I might also, depending on the circumstances, kick their chair or shake the ground in some way (I'm a pretty big guy, so if I jumped and slammed my feet into the ground, it might create a disturbance) to cajole them into messing up their timing. Never give up the stock without a fight, even if your character is completely immobile. I can't wobble, so when I'm doing f-tilts with Nana, I focus really hard on the controller and pray that I don't screw up.

Wobbling. . . Toebiting. . . wobbling. . . toebiting. . .

Toebiting only applies if you use the d-tilt. What about the f-tilt? Technically that's face smacking.

Wobbling totally applies, because the opponent is left to wobble in the hands of Popo.

Adding to the list of things, what about dancing to the beat of the A button?

Toebiting's stupid. I love Azn's idea of staring at them then afterwards asking what happened, but I think I care too much about my image it to destroy by making enemies with every one of my opponent's doing that. Also, I thought wobbling was only used to describe it if you did the infinite the new, easier way; after the blizzarding. Doesn't really matter I guess. So is the official name for the infinite wobbling now? I think we could get some sort of census on this. So let's hear it. Whatd'ya think?

I'm in favor of Wobbling too. You saw my reason already. That's 2 votes wobbling, 1 vote toebiter trap.

The staring at your opponent idea is good.
If someone was Wobbling, and I was actively trying to break free, hoping they'd screw up, and I noticed them staring at me in the condescending manner that you all are describing, I'd have to pistol whip him with my controller; Wobbling isn't disrespectful, but that is.

I dunno Mr. Numbers guy. I think the pelvic thrusting is more disrespectful, each pump of the hips moreso than the last. But that's my opinion.

Yes, probably. But staring at me as if to say "Do you really think you can escape?" Well, no, but what am I supposed to do, put the controller down? I'm playing in the most efficient way posssible by taking moderately easy steps to potentially avoid losing my stock, so don't mock me for that, even if it is hopeless. That's all I'm saying. (I'm not actually angry, BTW)

All my friends say the infinite is banned at MLG tournies, so how do I convince them it's not?

Well, that one is actually reserved for people I already know. In fact, most of the jokes/taunts I only use on people I'm friends with. But I do try to joke as much as possible when I'm playing with opponents, because I don't want them to think I've got an elitist attitude. If I just act all ultra-serious while I do something as ridiculous as the tilt-infinite, then people would probably like me even less then they already do :)

Numbers, I'm pretty sure most people here only taunt their friends while wobbling. I completely see where your coming from though. Someone would have to be areal a jackoff to stare a humble competitor just trying to play the game. But now look at it from our point of veiw, imagine you have one of your smash buddies in the wobbles and he's frantically trying to get out, then when he looks at you, instead of seeing your face he see your crotch being thrusted to the beat of each tilt. Hilarious.

Alright, if it's done with friends, then it's cool. My friends would kill me if I did something like that though. (They think the infinite is banned)

BTW, who could possibly hate Wobbles? Nooblets?

It's true, everybody.

Wobbles Wobbled me once after I asked him to, and I, thinking I was cool, tried to get out of it. After half an hour of wearing out my controller rotating and mashing buttons, I realized I was living my life all wrong. I put my controller down, and looked deep into Wobbles' eyes , and he looks into mine (I'm still being Wobbled) and we just... talk. He helped me reach an epiphany, and he told me the meaning of life. After sitting there for two hours, and a million damage afterwards, he D-Smashes me and I we play out the remaining three stocks. That day, I became an enlightened man.

I've been a pornstar/monk ever since.

For people seeing it for the first time, I pass the time by explaining to them how it's performed, how to stop it, and agreeing that it's cheaper than ramin noodles.
