I've been wanting to make a combo video for my weekly group since we have a lot of footage, but I don't know where to start. Does anyone have any recommendations or advice on software to use?

How do you make a combo video?

Depends on how fancy you want to get.
If you're using windows and are fine with basically just throwing clips together "Windows Movie Maker" is enough.
If not I would probably recommend After Effects.
