There's no way we could have waited until The Big House for our next Melee fix... right? So here we go, HomeMadeRage, the first Smash tourney of the semester! The focus of this event is to bring in new players to grow the UM Smash community, and facilitate some warmup for The Big House.

As usual, we are collaborating with our friend Technical_Chase who is hosting a Brawl tournament, Get Schooled!, in the room next door. We are also running Smash 64 as a side event here for the first time in a few months. Feel free to enter events for any of the three games.

* No one may make any action that is a clear attempt to distract another player and/or obstruct their ability to interact with the game.

* Lain's Stupid Rule: You may not enter all 4 main events at this dual tourney (Melee Doubles, Melee Singles, Brawl Doubles, Brawl Singles). 3 events is the limit. We have had too many issues with players holding up the tourney when they are allowed to enter all these events.

Please arrive on time. If you're late, call a TO, but we can't make any guarantees to accommodate you.

Am I allowed to enter 64, brawl singles, brawl doubles, and melee singles?
Yup.

If the focus of this is to bring more local players, wouldn't it be better to lower the entrance fee to $5?
I don't think lowering singles entry from $10 to $5 causes very many players to join, and I don't think raising singles entry from $5 to $10 causes very many players to drop out either. Bottomline is, finding new players isn't a matter of simply lowering singles entry and hoping that everyone magically notices... it's a matter of raising more Smash awareness on Facebook and on campus. If people want to participate in the Smash community, they shouldn't be so cheap that an extra $5, once per month, deters them from entering. And if they are that cheap, then these tourneys probably aren't for them in the first place. Just my opinion.
