I'm having a bit of a problem with Lucario. Any tips?

Help with Lucario matchup

umm id say use squirtle as a starter against lucario,
squirtle's aerial speed can catch lucario off guard
but if ur not good with squirtle, then ivy to %build and kill (my fav IMO)
charizard might be hard to use since hes a bit slow&big and lucario's hitboxes are nicely sized and ranged
just exploit his lack of speed n u should win :D

Squirtle works well, because Lucario's best method is to beat you up with combos, particularly air combos. Since Squirtle is a fast faller, it makes it much harder for Lucario to pull that off. Also, Lucario isn't a very strong character until he takes a lot of damage, so you don't have to worry about Squirtle dying early.
Also, Ivysaur will completely erase Lucario's down-air attack, because the last thing you want to do is completely stop your motion right above Ivysaur. Bullet Seed, much?
