Anyone ever wonder if Sakurai has a smashboards account? His miiverse posts are often reminiscent of the arguments we use against or for characters. I mean... it's more likely that some of our arguments are correct or that somebody he knows could be watching the forums, but you never know...

I guess they're definition of a Nintendo character is something cartoony like Mario, DK or Kirby. Of course that argument gets BTFO when you consider Samus, Captain Falcon, any Fire Emblem character, Ridley, plus more. That being said, we should be use to every argument against Shulk being stupid.

Just finished reading through all the posts on Takamaru. These are some dark times for the remaining support threads, but I'm confident we won't be returning Shulk to the Bionis any time soon.

Pretty much the same argument as "he's not cartoony enough for Smash Bros." (Yes, I've seen that one floating around a bit.) Just ignorant trolls and children, who don't want to admit that Shulk might get in over a character they're more familiar with, regardless of the character's actual qualifications.

I swear, people have to make an excuse for everything. Shulk's unique and has a lot to offer. I wish people would research before they open their mouths.

"Too new" Greninja and Robin. Also, the roster was decided at a perfect oppurtunity for Shulk to make it.

"Generic swordsman" Lol no. The only people who say this have never played Xenoblade.

"Not Nintendo enough" Fire emblem, that is all.

"Is from a one-game franchise" Xenoblade X.

"Is too niche" This thread says hello. There is a good reason for why we have almost beaten the K. Rool thread, because Shulk is easily in the top 5 most requested characters list globally.

I totally thought I knew how it was going to go. We had the trio to start off the party, we'd pick up a few people, gonna be awesome. Then Fiora died and I'm like WHAT NO WHY DID YOU DO THAT D: EVERYTHING WAS WONDERFUL It was like the storywriters went "Are you comfortable? All cozy in this narrative blanket? Good... I'm gonna set it on fire now."

I remember seeing someone posting about Xenoblade on Facebook a long time ago and their series of comments were like:

A: Finally got Xenoblade! Really loving it so far. It's felt pretty relaxed so far, but I'm only up to Tephra Cave, I'm sure it'll pick up

Well for me, if I get Isaac, Shulk and Mewtwo I'll be pretty much content at that point. Anything else is a bonus.

Shulk and Mewtwo seem like they're in a strong position, it's only Isaac that worries me.

I'm pretty sure Shulk is the 2nd most wanted character globally, since he's the most wanted newcomer in Japan and he's 3rd in the west I think. King K. Rool being first (very high requested in Japan, 2nd in the west) and then Mewtwo, as he is the most requested character (He's not a newcomer, so I am not contradicting myself) in Japan and does great in the west, or something. I wonder if Ridley is even in the Top 5, Japan doesn't care about him at all.

EDIT: And I don't think he will be liked in Japan like Little Mac; he got a surprisingly good reception, although he wasn't requested at all since nobody knew him. Ridley doesn't look nice or has a special personality, and if his gameplay looks awkward, yeah.
