Grab mechanics.

Is there any link to a full explanation of grab mechanics? I'm specifically looking for why a character can get out of a grab before the grab animation even finished. I found some videos/old threads googling it but my results didn't cover this grab escape.

Grab breaks happen when the grabbing character is hit or when the grab itself would cause the target to move in a way that is not possible.
