Ganondorf's Second Meteor Smash!?!

So in my way home from school today, I decided to play as Ganondorf. I was just practicing before I found something that made me laugh. Ganondorf's Down B can Meteor Smash... I think. It went so fast that It could have been a spike, or nothing at all. Can someone please verify if I wasn't hallucinating by trying it yourself. I tried to replicate it, but I couldn't.

You need to hit with the initial aerial hitbox to spike with it. It's been a property of his downB since Melee.

I've used a few times to meteor, but honestly I end up sending people up rather than down with gdorf's aerial down b.
