He lost to StreetShark's Sonic in Winner's and Xaltis' Rosalina or Peach in loser's.

Welcome man! It nice to see you here. Don't be afraid to ask questions about Ike, we have a lot of skilled players ( I am not one of them).
I honestly can't believe it took me so long to come to this thread. I was a main-stay in the support thread before he was revealed. But speaking of Ike, am I the only one that dislikes his new F-air animation?

I couldn't even tell the difference. Functionally, the move is great, especially after the patch.

I don't know what it is about the animation the move itself is just as good as I remember but that animation just looks... Awkward.

I don't think it would be possible for Ike to be swinging a sword as that's almost as tall as him in the air and not look awkward.

Yeah, it looks weird. It makes much more sense to slam it downwards.

Yeah his Brawl animation seemed like it had more impact to it, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that way.

Personally I've never noticed Ike's F-Air in Brawl. Now you've got me curious, so I'm going to compare the two.

Yeah, I don't like the animation as much as Brawl's; for me, it's hard to distinguish between that and his nair (and not as cool). :dizzy:

I just looked at the two animations and I like both. The Brawl animation fits the younger PoR Ike, while the more controlled SSB4 animation looks fits the more experienced RD Ike.

Huh, never noticed Brawl's animation probably would've resulted in some major spine problems for Ike. Almost looks like he knees himself in the face doing it, heh.

Has anyone here been utilizing Ledge Trump + BAir?

It's so good with Ike
Tell that to me, I main Ganondorf. :psycho:

But yeah, I've seen @ -RedX- -RedX- go for it with varying levels of success. Good players eventually buffer ledge getups out of fear of trumps, which you then predict those and punish.

Went up against Megaplox's Fox. Completely bodied me because he read my every move. I've got the videos saved, but I haven't seen anyone post on the Video Critique thread in days. I actually had to go Mario to beat him. Very discouraging as an Ike main.

By the way, what's the Ike Skype group again?

That's how I feel sometimes, though I feel my Ike always improves. I've been trying to play him more like Ganon lately. Trying to control the stage, being patient, only attacking when I feel it'll hit, and racking up damage. Emphasis on controlling the stage.

Also, I can tell them to add you to the Ike Skype group if you want.

So does anyone know who Ike's bronze color is based off of?
His father.

EDIT: Nvm, might be Boyd.

On the topic of trumping, if you don't feel confident in the amount of frame advantage you got, it's probably a good idea to just get back on stage and charge a smash and release it when they re-grab the ledge. Assuming they can't recover high enough after being trumped, they have to go for the ledge again with no invincibility.

Looks better than that godawful brown cape in the Black Knight costume. Seriously, if the outer cape was black or purple, I'd be more inclined to use him. Brown???

I used to use Black Knight palette on 3DS.
It's weird how they changed it in the Wii U version.

The Black Knight palette, from what I notice, does seem to be a bit overused. I use it mainly because it reflects my tag, which translates roughly to "Black Warrior" or "Black Tortoise General".

Oh, and I'm also a fan of the Black Knight in Path of Radiance, so that too further influenced my decision. ^-^

Odd. I prefer using brighter colours because Ike is known as the Radiant Hero.

I typically tend to use the White Palette (which im pretty sure is the Chrom palette swap if im not mistaken), given i tend to like using White/Black palette swaps with most of my characters. Plus, given he's the Radiant Hero, white is bright and could be considered Radiant. : 3
