Because the Marketing Specialist is talking so much logic right now.
Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know a bunch of forum posters who never worked with Nintendo, knew so much more about marketing than someone is actually makes a living in the industry and actually worked for Nintendo. Maybe I should take the word of amateurs over professionals, because that's how it goes around here. Right?

I thought you were gonna be gone until October, or something like that. Anyways, when the "forum posters" are the consumers who buy Nintendo's games, I think their opinion is important. I know that the people on smash boards aren't the majority of Nintendo buyers, but that doesn't mean they think differently either.

I'm only gone from the Wii U Social Discussion thread, not any other threads of this forum.

According to your rant about Sakurai knowing nothing about anything if he didn't include Ridley as a playable character in Smash 4, yes.

Do you really have to start **** with me everywhere I go? Seriously?
No, but you really need to look at things you've prievously said before calling others out for doing a very similar thing.

Again, Melee is 12 years old. It showing up at a huge event doesn't help because the game has been out so long. Everyone knows it exist so it doesn't give you any marketing. It's like advertising the 3DS with the original Gameboy.

Again, the product your showing off is the new on. Were Nintendo to show off the new game at EVO, it would be different.
Like Kuma said, Melee at EVO showed off tons of possibilities in the game, most of which the average person would not be aware of.

People who watch it would likely want to test things out, start improving their skill. Not everyone gets super skilled, even after this long.

Also, not EVERYONE knows it exists. There are indeed people who aren't aware of it, and some people may very well take interest in watching it at EVO, and as a result may take interest in the series.

I can personally say that I showed 3 of my friends who weren't originally interested in Smash the EVO stream and now they own their own copy of Melee and Brawl now.

Any person who ventured onto that stream who wasn't completely into Smash probably had the same effect on them. Sure, it's not going to have some mass pull of people going to buy it because the game isn't new and that time has passed but things like that can straggle in a few more customers here and there. As a sale's rep, I can say companies don't say that "Man only 3 people bought that old thing" as bad thing. The company I work for has been around 1949 and we use older products to sell newer products and Nintendo could take the same route if they wanted to and neither is it a new selling technique.

Don't bull**** me either by saying I'm not qualified to speak as a Marketer because, even though I've only been the field for about 2 months, I have already made 45K in career sales and I would have been considered for a managing position if I didn't choose to ship out to the AirForce.

You don't have to be a professional chef to know if a meal sucks.

Likewise you don't have to be a professional marketer to see that a decision was bad.
