Eshop Smash Demo?

Or are you referring to Zipzo's demo thread? In that case, I assumed the OP was in reference to North America specifically, given his location is Chicago, which is why I mentioned it's likely over here as well at some point before release.

There was no real confusion, I was just providing you with a potential alternative.

Think of it this way, they didn't do a downloadable demo for the Japanese release, why would they do it for NA? Plus, demos are usually used for games that have smaller fanbases in order to attempt to sell more copies. Not only is that not the case with Smash, but allowing for a demo with say 30 play tokens could potentially be all people want out of the game. If you're intelligent with those tokens and continue to power your 3DS, you might lose sales by making a demo because people wouldn't need to buy the full version to get what they want out of the game.

I was talking on the phone with a guy at Nintendo World NYC asking about a pre order, the guy put me on hold to ask his manager a question if you could pre order any other way than actually being there. When he got off hold he said "Sorry but there is no other way to preorder, but there should be a demo coming out a week before the release so you can see if you like the game." and that was right after he got off with his manager so I think its serious.

I could see a demo for this game a few month's out to scape in the the few thousands who are struggling. A game of this magnitude doesn't need a demo. And when they do they are disguised as beta events.

Has anyone else tried doing this, preordering at Nintendo World, to see if they give you the same response, but I honestly don't think there's going to be e-shop demo it would be cool ,but a store demo would be cool as well.

Nintendo rarely releases demos of their first party titles on the eShop. That being said, having an eShop demo would just be silly. I would love one, but it doesn't seem practical if Hyrule Warriors and other first party titles appear to have only in store demos or no demos at all.
