EDIT: All original text below is how I first wrote it in this thread. However, I just want to add that I have now washed my hands of this thread. I am fed up with you idiots who come into this thread without reading through, and many of those then saying things you could find answers to in the original text. I have never met such a sordid bunch of slow and frustrating people such as yourselves, who will try and rubbish people like me who have only translated this in order to help out. It disgusts me.
I have never stated that this article was official. I have never stated that I knew where it came from. All I know is that it has been around for a while and I thought I would translate it for you all in order to help out, but now I regret even doing that.
But the worst thing is people who can't let go; this is a ****ing game we're talking about here people, and you treat it as if it's life or death. Seriously, I've seen people threatening to kill themselves if Ridley is not included as a playable character....what has happened to make it come to this?
So, if you're one of those lazy people and can't be bothered reading this whole edit..... all of you need to grow up and stop posting such bloody stupid replies. Read through the topic, take time to think what yo're going to say BEFORE typing and pissing off normal people like me who give up their time to help you out with a game we should all enjoy and NOT turn into such an idiotic flamewar. Okay, I know there are other threads about this, but they lead to nowhere, so I figured I'd get on translating myself.
The top paragraph is the most interesting section, basically saying things like with Sumabura X, Sonic, Snake and Dedede have been added to the list of playable characters. It states that in previous versions they were not playable. It goes on to mention that there were a total of 25 playable characters in DX (Melee) and will be 48 playable characters in X (Brawl) which is double the amount.
The next sentence is the most important part. It states that there will be hidden characters (obviously) included as part of that 48, but of those hidden characters, some (it doesn't say how many) will be model changes.
Which basically means clones. Which basically means Fox/Falco, Ganondorf/Capt. Falcon etc. etc.
The middle and bottom paragraphs contain nothing of interest, merely stating where certain characters originated, eg. Lucas from Mother3 on the Nintendo 64 and other such various things.
So the main point I guess is assuming this document is real (as I think it is), a 48 character roster is real, containing clones, still hidden characters and characters we know (including such things as Pokemon Trainer being counted as 1 character and the same for Zelda/Sheik). Also of note is that it does not mention any other 3rd party characters...so we'll just have to wait for that.
