Smash 3DS Does Smash bros. 3DS look good in 2D?

(For whoever has played the demo at some point) i'm planning on getting a used 2DS for 90$ (awesome huh?) so what i'm asking is: whenever you played the demo, did playing in 2D look good? or did it feel unfitting after playing in 3D?

I played it in both 2D and 3D, and while the 3D is nice, playing without it isn't a big deal. You should be fine.

I enjoyed it in 3D and 3D for the demo, but considering how many (2D) trailers there are, it should be easy to judge for yourself whether it looks good in 2D.

It's all based on preference. Personally I don't like 3D at all and probably won't even use it.

Smash seems like a good game to leave in 2D mode since I've always had trouble with the small blur window. 3D is nice for some games, but not really Smash.

I kept switching back and forth between both modes when I played it.

3D helps a little bit in the sense that it makes characters pop out a little bit from the background, so it's harder to lose them from sight. That's a big help in 4-player matches on big stages. Not like the game's unplayable without it or anything, I actually expect to have it off most of the time, but it just helps a bit.

If we're just talking about it "looking good" though, then yeah, it does. Both modes look just as good, I don't think 3D adds much to this game as far as aesthetics go.

Plenty of people actually dislike the 3D more than those who like it, whether it be applying to Smash Bros or any other game, so I'm sure it'll be totally fine in 2D. If you like the feel of the system more and the screen size doesn't bother you, go for it.

I don't think there's a sure fire way to tell unless they've announced that it'll run smoothly, because on one hand, we had Link Between Worlds run totally fine with 3D and Pokemon X/Y could barely handle it without framerate issues.

2D always looks better for me... the resolution is even lower if you turn on 3D.

I believe the way they designed it was with 3D in mind, making sure everything worked in 3D, because if it can work in 3D, it can work in 2D. I think one of the interviews(either a direct or at E3) mentioned something about the 3D running just as well as the 2D.

IMO, pretty much any game looks great enough without the 3D.

There is a character trailer which, if played on 2DS from the eShop, shows 3DS footage on the top screen as if it were extracted from the game itself, and it looked pretty good. It was one on one, though, I'm assuming FFA with four will be a pain in the ass.

EDIT: never mind, I rewatched it and it was Wii U footage.

Eh 3D gives me a headache after a while. I have a 2DS N the L n R buttons r perfect for smash
