Do pills kill red pikmin while fireballs wont?

Heard this from a few people. Is this true? Also is the Mario= slightly longer f-smash doc= better sweetspot theory true in pm too?

I'm pretty sure Doc and Mario are exactly the same in terms of everything. But I might be totally wrong though.

In PM Doc and Mario are exactly the same, Dr. Mario is just an alternate skin.

Docs pills and f-smash have electric properties, while marios fireballs and f-smash have fire properties. Doc is better against Olimar than Mario, because docs pills damage the red pikmin while marios fireballs do who knows what.

This isn't firsthand information, just something I heard from... somewhere I don't remember, but I know the part about electric/fire is true.

Yep, an easy way to test this is go to practice and hit a blast box with a pill/fireball.

No, they dont - they still get hurt.. But theyre immune to Docs fsmash oddly enough.. (Just tested this)

It's not odd if you think like this. The pill has no special effect, so it would hit yellow pikmins.

I've heard that the pill has an electric effect, so as to keep it from being a physical projectile like arrows
