Okay, I really want some characters to return as DLC, but, unfortunately, the CSS isn't just big enough. Plus, some characters don't deserve their own slots. So, I'm going to talk about who I want as a DLC alt character swap, and then I'll ask you.

I don't think Roy, Pichu, Paper Mario work well over Lucina ,Pikachu and Game & watch. Isn't Pichu kind of small and Roy plays different from Lucina the same goes for Paper Mario.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind just some more alt colors, especially if those alt colors were based on other characters or things withing the characters respective franchise.

Say, for example Shadow Dedede colors for, Kumatora colors for or colors resembling any character from the Sonic series for(we really don't need 50 shades of blue).

What can I say, I just really like my palette swaps.

Of course, they'd have to be reasonably cheap, since they're just a new texture for an existing model, which shouldn't require too much effort.

When we're talking in a thread like this, you really need to understand some ground rules for how Alternate Costumes work before going crazy with ideas. If we're talking about alts in the vein of Overalls Wario and Captain Alph, then keep these in mind:
#1. No Gameplay changes can be made. If you change their moves or stats at all, they're no longer a costume, they're now a clone like Dark Pit and Lucina, and would appear on the CSS.
#2. Because of #1, you can't include characters that would imply gameplay differences, because that would make people mad. For example, if you made Wolf a costume for Fox, but he played the same, people would be pissed because we understand that Wolf plays differently. This is also why Dixie can't be a costume for Diddy, as another example.
#3. The hitboxes must be identical, meaning they must be shaped roughly the same. Things like grafting Chunky Kong onto DK's body or Pichu onto Pikachu's body... they just don't work. It'd be impossible unless you made them a new clone character and more than just a costume.

Now, with those criteria in mind:

I feel character alts should be few and far between. For most it does not fit with the characters existing move set.

Example: Dry Bowser turning into Giga Bowser or Daisy summoning a bunch of peaches.

Or in some cases the alt needs to be more fleshed out;

Example: Blood Falcon would require a different voice, and different vehicle.

Sakurai has already adjusted voices for Robin's character, so it can be done, but what Sakurai hasn't done yet is texture tweeks or recolours for existing moves. Typically the alt fits in seamlessly with the move set.

- Blood Hawk vehicle comes during the Final Smash.

Dark Link
- Announcer calls out "Dark Link" when selected, and on the winning screen.
- Crowd will also cheer "Dark Link".
- Colour and texture adjustments made to certain moves to give him slightly more flavour. (Proper sword and shield colourations.)
- Colour and texture adjustments purely cosmetic and don't effect hit boxes, damage boxes or reach etc.
- Triforce Slash is recoloured to blacks instead of golds.
- Different voice from Link.

Daisy
- Announcer calls out "Daisy" when selected, and on the winning screen.
- Crowd will also cheer "Daisy".
- Colour and texture adjustments made to certain moves to give him slightly more flavour. (Maybe a different coloured Toad or Toadette)
- Colour and texture adjustments purely cosmetic and don't effect hit boxes, damage boxes or reach etc.
- The Final Smash has the peaches look like Flowers/ Daisies.
- Different voice from Peach.


Functionally these characters damage ratios, hit boxes, reach, stats, etc etc etc. Are all the same no changes made in this aspect. Purely cosmetic.

I woulda made the Blood Falcon, Dark Link, and Daisy alts unlockable or exclusive to the Limited Edition version of the game.

Roy needs to be his own character because he plays much differently than Marth and Lucina. Pichu wouldn't work as a Pikachu alt given his differences to Pikachu. Paper Mario i'm a bit iffy about.

I would like to see a set of costumes for Shulk. Like the M100, Asura, and Jungle sets for example. However, I would like to see more. I'm also on board with the masked Lucina and Masked Dedede alternates. Dry Bowser is another I would like to see. I would also like to see different versions of Zelda and Link.
