That instantly makes Smash Wii U the GOTY.

In reality, the DK Bongos are pretty much useless with any game that's not Donkey Konga 1-3 or Donkey Kong Jungle Beat.

The DK Bongos only have 8 GameCube controller buttons: A, B, X, Y, R, and Start.

Control Stick, C Stick, D-Pad, L, and Z are absent altogether. And since Smash needs at least the Control Stick, you won't make any real progress with the Bongos.

Though I have to credit the guy for playing silly with the idea.

DDR Pad is what all the pros will be using in APEX this year.

I will give my firstborn son to the first person to win an official tournament with the bongos.

I remember trying out a Guitar Hero guitar back in Brawl days, and it didn't work.

If it does now, I have a new main controller.
I tried that too. It only recognized the Wii remote plugged in the guitar controller. Not hold my breath for it to work in Wii U

I wonder if you could use another controller to gamecube adapter to plug another controller into the adapter that comes with the game. It'd work like this:

Other controller -> plugs into other controller to gamecube adapter -> plugs into the official WiiU gamecube adapter -> plugs into the WiiU USB ports.

It's a long shot but it might work. Probably not viable cause of the lag but still.

If this does indeed allow full control of the game, then how does the button configuration even work? If it controls anything like the actual game, then you are limited to lateral movement buttons (with jumping) and the pause menu.
