Hey Vyse, since you did the GX soundtrack, let me know about my questions.

If you plan on adding the title theme or if its there and I didn't get it for some reason...
And if you plan to convert the course themes with their respective final lap endings - like it is for Green Plant and Casino Zero
I didn't do that, Moosehunter did. You can find him on Elite Smash Hackers.

A lot of people have been confusing me for him lately... I think I'll take it as a compliment. >.>

About CT's Last Battle: I really hope that's not true. :( I haven't tested it, but I don't recall other stereo songs getting me any trouble, so I'm skeptical.

Well, I am playing on a different TV than the one I usually use, but neither one has ever given me trouble with stereo sound. But yeah, it's definitely missing one of the channels, so it sounds like it's changing volume instead. I mean, the song itself still sounds fine, it just doesn't have that trippy effect that it normally does.

Interesting, Wander, I'm sure it could be redone to fix things.

Everything is caught up as far as I can tell. If I missed something, be sure to let me know (and direct me, cause I'd rather not have to scan through the thread to see which page it's on). It's amazing what we've got going with this thread only existing 10 days.

The Vyse/Moosehunter mixup was my fault, a leftover mistaken accrediting to Vyse from way back due to a formatting error with the template I was using.

And masamunecyrus, you're right. On closer inspection Mediafire's copy to clipboard button is flash. I'm sure you don't want to get that involved to make such a feature work. Don't worry about it. As for another thing to add to the current tool, allow a person to choose a green, yellow, red star or default at "Unsure" (no star, instead a default color hyphen). Also, when considering how to set up a table in a Wiki, it may also be a good idea to add a column indicating whether the track is Stereo or Mono (could use a simple S or M to indicate which).

While it's on my mind, would it be worth my time to do any other Mario Kart Wii songs? If you're making a request, remember that there are multiple versions of most tracks, as well as the sped-up final lap music. Specify which one.

I've also been wanting to do some Katamari songs, but there are so many to choose from. Name the ones you want to see the most, I can find MP3s on my own.

Does the Undersea Palace have the same problem? It should also have that trippy stereo effect.

By the way, instead of saying, on various videos, "@time", just link to your YouTube videos like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rw8o2t8Yco#t=7m08s
Perhaps adding in a start time option to the template could be a good idea (may it'd start making things too complex). I'll use this advice and fix the current demo links to work that way when I have time.

I'm changed the name of the topic to Brawl Custom Music Hub. Currently, googling custom music hub brings up this thread as the top result, which is great. Hopefully, with Brawl being in the title, and a lot of linking by other people and promotion of this thread, this thread will be somewhere near the top when someone googles Brawl custom music. Currently it isn't, and relatively useless links are on top instead.

I've also changed the song list for the videogames to show some letters so people can more easily navigate it. No one likes a wall of text.

I'd be more than happy to shamelessly promote this thread to get it to the top. New front page looks nice, but I noticed some of the Final Fantasy songs are all out of order. 9 is before 6, 13 is before 10, stuff like that. Minor details, I know.

I haven't tried Undersea Palace, so I don't know if its stereo effects are messed up or not.

I'll add times on YouTube to the instructions. Adding a start time would just add unnecessary bloat; I think it's easier just to take it onto the end of an URL.

Also, here's batch 1 of reviews. I disagreed with the review of Mr. Patch by Eternal Smasher -- previously a red star -- I gave it a green star. Even if the loops were OK, I gave yellow stars to exceptionally loud clicks, though I let softer clicks go with a green. Blank stars are unloopable songs that sound OK going from beginning to end (e.g., a lot of game intros). Also, I don't know if it's a conflict of interest to rate my own songs, but I did. :psycho:

What about my two CT songs earned them a red star? I just tested both of them myself for two loops each, and they might not match up perfectly, but there are no clicks at all, and I at least chose sensible loop points instead of just directly converting the entire song.

^Upon listening, I heard a click in Battle with Magus that I hadn't noticed before, but I can't figure out what's wrong with Boss Battle 1 and Undersea Palace. (I'm only saying this because I want to fix them if there's something wrong with them.) Mind explaining?

Hahaha, maybe I'm too strict, already stirring up controversy! ^_^

I gave the red stars to Frog's Theme because it stops into silence at around 1:33 and doesn't start again for about 3/4 of a second. Same goes for Memories of Green at ~3:33. I thought three quarters of a second of silence was a little bit odd in a loop, unless the song actually ended and then started from the beginning (like Chrono Trigger's main theme), but they didn't.

As far as the yellow stars, yeah, that Boss Battle 1 is a soft click, that should get a . Don't you think the click in Undersea Palace is kind of audible, though? Maybe not. I'm listening with Winamp & vgmstream r665, I get the click at about ~1:35 at the loop point.

I'm not trying to be the de facto authority over reviews, or anything; it's just that there's only a handful of stars so I was trying to put up some more. :)

I turned the volume up and put my face close to the speakers, and I barely heard the click in Undersea Palace. I still can't find anything in BB1.

See if this Battle with Magus is more acceptable. :p http://www.mediafire.com/?zjyynztcdci
Hahaha, alright. I am listening to these through a pair of $12 headphones, maybe that has something to do with it.

Oh, and that Magus's Battle is perfect!

I see the effort but the problem is that when both of the songs "end", there's a small gap of silence before the songs starts over again. While I hear no clicks, I notice the awkward silence and that's just hearing them on WinAmp alone. Sorry if I sounded harsh =\

On another note, is there going to be a section which suggests what songs is appropriate with which stage? (ex: fits the atmosphere, intentions)

I may go back and re-edit those songs, because I'm starting to notice the loop gaps more and more myself.

About the stage bit...isn't that more for the player to decide? There are some obvious ones like Mario Kart Wii songs going on Mario Circuit or TP songs on Bridge of Eldin, but other than that...who's to decide where a song fits and where it doesn't?

Ah, I used the wrong words *re-edits* >_<. It's not suppose to decide or force them, but it's merely just a suggestion for those who encounter a song foreign to them or if someone's looking for a particular song that "fits" the stage. But I guess you're right, it's up to the player in the end =\

Does Moosehunter get on SWF or do I have to contact him through ESH?

Hmm, guess I'll see if I can contact him, and if not then I'll figure a way to make the tracks myself.

Sorry Vyse, but thanks for letting me know.

lucky #69th post... hehe
edit: the new format for the music list is great... and wow, there are a lot of tracks now. O_O

One word: Metroid

You forgot again XD

Here's the links again:
Metroid: Zero Mission - Norfair By Nintendo Maniac 64 - DEMO
Metroid Prime - Credits (Loop ver. Edit) By Nintendo Maniac 64 - DEMO

Also, if you want, you could replace my two Emiya songs with the three following links:
Fate/stay night (Anime) - WIP soundtrack By Nintendo Maniac 64
Fate/stay night (Game) - Perfectly looped WIP soundtrack By Nintendo Maniac 64
Fate/stay night Realta Nua (PS2 Game) - Perfectly looped WIP soundtrack By Nintendo Maniac 64

EDIT: Oh, question! Should I label soundtracks as perfectly looped even if the songs don't loop back into themselves? As in they just end and restart - but that's mainly because the song didn't even loop originally? (mainly the songs from the anime)

You're awesome.

Chrono Trigger - Frog's Theme by Wander - DEMO

There, all fixed up. The transition between loops is now almost unnoticeable - if you're hearing it during a fight, unless you stop for a moment to listen, you won't notice it. Definitely a green star.

For Memories of Green, there's really nothing I can do. The entire song looks the same on Audacity, it's hard to pick out a solid ending point, and it's not even that great of a song to fight to to begin with. I'd rather just leave it alone, if that's alright with you guys.

Hmm, Nintendo Maniac 64, even after going back through the posts I couldn't find the Metroid links you spoke of. I also need to add Vyse's pokemon remixes still.

Thanks for fixing up the song, Wander.

If people want a list recommending songs for certain stages, I suppose I can go about compiling it. For the list songs can appear on more than one stage (I'm on a Boat on Pirate Ship and Rainbow Cruise, for example).

Go ahead and recommend songs others have submitted, or criticize recommendations. The more you guys argue and bother me the less I have to bother with my own interpretations.

@Masamunecyrus - are you planning on doing any more Okami songs? I was thinking of making a few myself, but I didn't want to make any duplicates if you're already working on some.

I decided to keep them there to highlight what the music is like, since they have preview links, since Emiya is somewhat obscure.

Oh, and MORE HYRULE SYMPHONY. Make sure to up the gain for it though, a bit louder.

Nope, I wasn't planning on it. I have a list of songs in the game I want to replace and I'm trying to find songs that will do for those positions. I'd be thrilled to see more Okami songs on the scene, though. :)

What does everyone think of the idea of a colorless star (★)? These stars would be for songs which are unloopable (main themes, etc...), but repeat from finish to start in a way that sounds perfectly fine.

Just a question before I start, is it possible to cut and paste parts of songs in Audacity?

And MKW and Katamari are still open for requests.

I really like the ★ idea.

Alright, a bit of news on the list...
When backing up just the list, the file size has exceeded the 100 KB mark, which is sorta absurd.

The thread title change was a complete success already!
googling "Brawl custom music" brings up this topic as the forth result

We still have a ways to go with promotion.
