Custom music forces Brawl to freeze - only at Stage Select

I've been searching for months for the solution to this problem. I haven't posted because I was sure the answer would be somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. I hope I'm posting this in the right place!

I've been trying to get custom music to work in Brawl, using the latest file replacement code. However, whenever I press Start to begin a match (where the stage select screen shows), the game freezes, an unrecoverable crash.

I've tried the Music Reset code for Menu, but that doesn't seem to solve the problem.

Am I just using the wrong code? Has anyone else experienced freezing in the stage select?

it's not custom music. It's your common5.pac in pf/system. Delete it.

I've checked my SD card, but I don't seem to have a common5.pac file there.

I've tried loading it from a USB backup and my genuine disc, but neither works. Do I need to delete it from my backup?

You need the Disable Custom Stages 1.1 code to stop that problem.

So i'm having this problem too. Except i added the Disable Customs so and so.
Interestingly enough, it's still freezing on the selection screen.

What do i do.

Make sure it's Custom Stages 1.1
Could be your common5.pac, try deleting that
File Patch Code 3.5.1 is required for music

If none of those work...I have no clue. My guess is you have a bad code

Bad code meaning Phantom Wings?

I also got something really weird...

My freezes like once a hour or something. Also at the SSS.

I use PAL brawl, so is there a code for disable custom stages for pal?

don't have common5 either... any other solutions?
