Can someone help me please?

I want to upgrade the memory on my computer from 1gb to 4gb. I believe the max I can have is 4gb...I am running Windows xp Prof. I don't know what else I need to know when looking at memory haha.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145184

That's what I was thinking.

Help!
well first off the most ram you can have with xp is 3.1 gigs, SECOND! before you even buy ram you need to find out what kind it is. (SD, ddr1,ddr2,ddr3), you most likely want ddr2, then you need to find the speed at which the ram runs at, there will be a sticker on the side of the ram which has that, it might say like 800x4 or something like that. Make sure your motherboard can support that kind of ram too. People make alot of mistakes while buying ram and often messes the machine up.

Edit- My wow realm went down while I was on 25 man OS with the boss at 10%.... Its still down and I'm supposed to be doing 10 man Naxx in 30 minutes :(

>_> That means you have 2 512MB DDR2 cards.

I suggest grabbing 2 1GB DDR2 cards.

Oh and we stacked 5 sparks in 25 Malygos but that attempt all 3 of our Heroisms (Bloodlust) were down. LULS

Our Doomchicken did a 98.8k Starfire in it.

i was jk about the new computer thing

i've had my computer since 2004 ish, and its pretty much up to par with games nowadays.
you really only need RAM and a good graphics card. that'll hold you over until you get enough money.

i suggest one of the GeForce 8800 or higher. they're getting cheap nowadays.

dont get me wrong, processor is important too, but yours looks fine.

My friend bought one for $800 with 5 (kind of a wierd amount) gigs ram ddr3 , vista 64, quadcore processer, Nvidia Gforce 9300, I thought that was a pretty good deal.

Video cards are not built inot the motherboard., not sure about sound cards...
thought they often were for laptops...or at least linked closely. like you can't just open up most laptops and switch out video cards like you can with a harddrive. so they might as well be. for desktops, though, video cards have always been easily swappable

edit: lol, also baout the EGM thing, their last issue didn't even say anything about cancelling. as a matter of fact, it even had sneak peeks into the next, non-existant issue! :D

you know that box actually says "compatible with gamecube," meaning it is a ****ty third party controller. and yes, i mean really ****ty, i've used that brand before at a friend's house, the trigger buttons are retardedly broken and the controller feels like legos.

Colbert was in an issue of that awhile ago, in fact, I think he was running for president in it. Won the election over both Obama and McCain but then lost in a recount to Obama.

That would be amazing if it happened IRL.

It probably did, and the Media covered it up.
