In 1.0.3, Mario can die on Mute City by holding up at 74%

In 1.0.4, he survives at 103%.

I live to 107% by holding sideways. This is the same in both versions.

Hold right.

Edit: wait 4%?
What.
Edit 2:
So they just took out vertical influence?

The hell?

DI! DI!

Welp, this is awesome. Officially happier than ever before now. My Dr. Mario combos are now a lot more finite.

Edit: Wait, so they took out vertical influence? So it's still not DI in a sense but....it's honestly a lot better now IMO. I think Vectoring horizontally only is pretty fine.

Confirming also, that holding down indeed no longer prevents mario from dying later in 1.0.4 vs 1.0.3.
What...what the heck?

Vectoring is officially dead. The direction you hold no longer affects launch speeds or distance, just angles. Tested in vs mode.

Basically the reason he lived longer is because of geometry. He changed the angle of launch to bend away from the ceiling. This is how DI works.

Oh my GOSH this is so GREAT.

All those Mario U-Throw combos I discovered can no longer be vectored....

Castwide options have increased fairly significantly IMO.

Can someone get me a reliable, easy, horizontal hitbox to test?
Maybe Falcon Dtilt? It hits at a pretty raw horizontal angle. Or Ganon Ftilt it kills faster

Ik how DI works.

Just surprised at the strength of this DI. I thought they would.compensate the loss of vectoring with stronger DI.
Edit: I can see why my post could have been confusing haha

Vectoring was actually weaker (for pure survival purposes) than DI was; it was the confusion with Crouch Cancelling that made people think otherwise.

Nah It was way stronger than DI is currently. If you look at my test, there was no crouch canceling and the results speak for themselves.

Yeah I knew that too. Vectoring was pretty weak comparatively, I think I had a few arguments over in the impressions thread on this.

Crouch canceling is super strong. At least it doesn't mess with hitstun ala Melee.

He meant old DI, Melee and Brawl.

Maybe that is how they took out wectoring, like how they took out dacus by making it so you need to jump cancel to hyphen smash.

edit: actually you don't need to jump cancel, the timing is just more precise on the up input. Maybe dacus isn't out... it is done differently as well?

WOWW!!!

No ****ing wonder my throws were comboing, you can't just hold up/away to freely avoid it anymore!

Officially not upset I got down throw/fthrow changes wrong. It's literally the game making my throws not useless by holding away!

Mars Grab Game GET[ten again]

Finally, I can instinctively hold up when I get hit again.

Wow. That is such a huge nerf on Rosalina . Hmm... I guess it was sort of justified because Luma offered too much spacing and zone control. That Shulk buff is pretty nice. I always felt that he was too under-powered for the kit he packed. Hopefully we'll see more use of him in competitive play. (:

@ SamuraiPanda SamuraiPanda Should I format my data into a new thread?

Edit:
@ Big O Big O , do you have all your data in a single table?
Tested on BF with DK facing right and Blast Box on right

Both Patches

60% No Input = Barely lives
61% No Input = KO

Pre-Patch

77% Holding down/left = Barely lives
46% Holding up/right = KO

Post-Patch

64% Holding down/left = Barely lives
58% Holding up/right = KO

Ganon f tilt is the most horizontal knockback move in the game imo.

Oh to actually perform on yourself... I'll get back to you

Yes, but I need something like a stage or an item I can use in a controlled setting on a single player 3DS.

I mean, we can test WiiU however we want in 28.5 hours, but...

Confirmed that rage is still here.

Yes you should. And please mention this may open new combos like Marth throws comboing into normals, or Falcon throws comboing into Knee (I saw several people mentioning they could do Dthrow -> knee at low percents "guaranteed") but more testing is needed. That'll get the hype train going on hyperdrive.

I'll link your thread in the OP. This is huge dude.
