Chain grab set-ups and low dmg comboes

I haven't seen anything on setting up for chain grabs... Perhaps I'm too used to tekken and other fighters, but does anyone use any moves (particularly against chars with low dmg) to bait chain grabbing?

Similarly, besides my grab, I'm having difficulty adding the dmg onto chars with low dmg without getting hit myself. I use my f-tilt and d-tilt when possible + my waddle's, but I still feel like most chars with 0% just take a hit (if i hit them) run by and either start chain grabbing me (I.E. falco) or launch me into a juggle (MK)... What am I doing wrong? Is there any move (B+air?????) that I can use with relative safety that might tag on some dmg?

You seem to just broadly want some general tips on playing DDD better.

You should watch more videos of various DDD's and see what they do. There are some general strategies that work well against most characters and there are some strategies that are character specific. Take a look at some of these vids. These DDD players helped me develop some varied strategies for playing DDD better.

In general, most of the times you commit to a move in brawl, it's almost always punishable if it doesn't connect. So, I don't know of many things you can do in relative safety. You probably should just learn to mind game more, space better, and figure out when to commit.

Ftilt punishes anyone who wants to run at you, and shieldgrab is the ultimate chaingrab setup. You don't even need to bait a chaingrab - you can practically force it if you play with smart and effective spacing.
