there really isn't much competition for that though. Just uncle and I have only ever seen him at 1 tourney so its kind of hard to count him. Congratulations, you are this state's best bowser.....by default.

keith you don't really think people shouldn't play friendlies at tourney do you
if someone needs to do a tourney match, you just kick ppl playing friendlies off. its very simple
I mean if you need a little warm up or just one game to get the nervousness out then do it. but **** is having full on sets and that is unnecessary if we only have 5 setups.

Plus alot of the time. people who have a match to play, will be playing friendlies instead, and wont know about it cause they are .... playing friendlies.

Well the first step is, is realizing what forum you want to moderate. Then you work your way up.

i want to be in the bbr, but i wouldn't really want to be a mod, other than being able to play music places.

Looks like the melee hacks stuff is getting it's own forum in the smashmods.com area, and I've been identified as a major contributor (wtf) so I'll work my way up from that to moderatordom.

All for the red name.

Stingers, they're ready to hang you if they meet you IRL. Good luck getting unbanned.

Thanks and sure thing stingers.

Like banning someone from an entire forum, I don't even get it. What's the end goal?

and I have no idea what stingers did, Zeldarox. Last time I saw him post there was a nonflamey, serious post about how mewtwo could be could (like, speed up his fair and make him heavier and whatnot). After the clone engine had been brought up, so it wasn't even offtopic.

im not really sure what I did.

i think they (strong_bad jiang dantarion shell shadic shanus tson falco400 countkaiser) all just have nothing better to do (they are working on a competitive smash brothers hack after all), so they just decided to group-hate me so they have something to talk about (because they're too awkward to come up with any sort of conversation otherwise).

That's the problem with a lot of the P:M devs - many have huge ego/attitudes. Not all of them, and I actually like two/three of them from just reading their posts and being on stream, but pretty much other than those 2/3, not a big fan of the dev team. (Just their work).

yeah and its paid off bigtime. stock goes around and plays friendlies with people out of tourneys and goes OOS and hes started ******. blackchris has done the same in melee. keith if u want to start improving, u need to start playing more, thats how it works. I mean I play wifi all the ****in time and it's helped me A LOT in lieu of having an actual person to play again.
idk where this thread is goin, but i just wanna say that this is true.

i find fun in getting better. i find fun in winning. yeah, you guys are cool, but...i'm in this community to get better, and to garner respect among fellow players, especially ganon mains (this is basically why any tourney jim goes to, i will probably also attend)

this is also why i host fests like...3 times a week. me ewb and sneak just finished playing for like 5 hours, and we'll be back at it tomorrow with even more people (in fact, i played 2 hours with EMB, and 2 other hours with ryan yesterday as well). ryan has become one of my best friends because we play so much and i understand how he thinks about a multitude of things. we talk between matches, and we talk sometimes during matches. it creates an understanding, while still being fun, while still more importantly teaching lessons in the game. Playing more will get you better. more importantly, playing more with people better than you will get you...more better. but playing more with people better than you with the intention of learning WHY they're better than you, with CONSCIOUS effort to change that is the fast way to get better. as much as i've gotten better, my improvements made since ryan has come to NC far outweigh anything i've been doing prior to...late august. This is actual improvement. before i was just getting...more consistent techskill. lol.

as for the tourneys, they're important to take seriously as a means to get better, especially if you're unlike me and have someone better to play you every day. If you don't improve at tourney, then when will you? from what i garner, wifi usually has enough lag to where you can work your mind, but its not exactly a real setting. when it comes to food breaks and between matches, surely its good to be friendly. but unless you put yourself in a learning environment when it comes to matches, theres no potential for improvement. None.

tl;dr: Play more, and play to learn. apply your learnings in tourney.
