Thursday:
-Amsah and Adam did not attend.
-The livestream is now up, broadcasting friendlies today.
-The stream is excellent quality! Best stream since Pound 4!?
Timezone Stuff:
In case you forgot (because I did, lol), Gothenburg is GMT +1, so players from North America may have to adjust their sleeping schedules if they want to watch everything live.
If you're mostly just interested in the tournament events (so excluding friendlies, etc), they're scheduled for:
Teams starting Friday at 1pm (7am for EC, 4am for WC)
Singles starting Saturday at 10am (4am for EC, 1am for WC). If that's too early for you, you can add 3 hours and skip 1st Round Pools.
So if you don't want to miss the tournament, you have to pull an all nighter or two and get up early. :D
There will also be friendlies on starting Thursday at 4pm (10am for EC, 7am for WC) and ending on Sunday at 4pm (10am for EC, 7am for WC). If you're unable to stay up super late, you might still be able to catch friendlies as the players are allowed to sleep in the venue, so maybe they'll try to sneak some Smash in at night (for them).
Pre-BEAST 2:
-Due to sickness, Amsah won't be going. Ice vs Armada hype?
-Adam may or may not attend as he was teaming with Amsah.
-Singles R1 Pools may be starting on Friday instead of Saturday if there's time after Teams.
(Felt like writing some more):
Leffen: Leffen is a Falco main from Sweden, who also has one of the best Yoshis in the world. Leffen placed 9th at BEAST 1 and placed a very impressive 17th at Genesis 2. Leffen rivals fellow Falco main Calle W for being second in Sweden, and while Leffen is considered the better player, Leffen hasn't been able to take games off Armada like Calle W has. We'll get to see if Leffen's Genesis 2 experience will help him perform better and place high at BEAST 2.
IVP: IVP is the top Fox in Sweden, and one of the best in Europe, but he also uses Falco to a high level. He tends to play somewhat like Cactuar, but is still very technical and consistent. He placed 9th at BEAST 1 and 3rd in Teams with C, and always places high in Swedish tournaments. While he does well, he hasn't been able to outplace or defeat other top Foxs including Zgetto, Remen and Pasi, and often goes back and forth with the Swedish Falcos, Calle W and Leffen. Maybe BEAST 2 will be his big chance?
Nizro: One of the top (only) Falcons in Europe and the best in Sweden, Nizro finishes high. He doesn't travel too often, but did attend Genesis 2, making it to 3rd Round Pools, and placed 13th at BEAST 1, underneath Jeapie and Pamaro. Like many Europeans, Nizro plays Falcon with a more defensive and patient style, opposed to super aggressive. We'll see what Genesis 2 taught him.
Navn: Navn plays Fox and is ranked #1 in Denmark. Yup.
bËst: bËst is the best from Finland attending BEAST 2 (5th). The Finnish Smash community is somewhat small and growing, so maybe if bËst performs well, he can motivate more players in his country to play and improve. Finland's top player, Peki, placed 5th at a Swedish tournament back in May, under Armada, Leffen, IVP and Pepito. bËst mains Sheik and is the 2nd best one under Nipi.
Pepito: Pepito is another Falco main from Sweden, and is just a slight level under Calle W and Leffen. Pepito placed 9th at BEAST 1, placed 7th at Berlin Calling, and places high at Swedish tournaments. He is very fast, flashy, technical and combos really well, but he hasn't quite yet done anything to really stand out, but he has a great chance to here at BEAST 2.
Smasher89: He is Europe's best Ice Climbers from Sweden, and placed 13th at BEAST 1. He's technical and effective with ICs' various chaingrabs and grab combos, but not quite to the level of American Ice Climbers, Fly Amanita and Wobbles. He's taken sets off almost all of the Swedish smashers, and can hold his own against Calle W. Smasher89 also uses Jigglypuff for Teams, bad match-ups or when he's not completely confident in his Ice Climbers.

Main:
BEAST 2 is the second edition to the BEAST series and will have a ridiculous amount of European talent filling the tournament! BEAST 2 is a Road to Apex 2012 qualifier and will be featuring the likes of Armada, Amsah, Ice, Zgetto, Calle W, Hack, and tons more! Almost every single major European player will be there, so if you want see what's up with the European Smash scene, you should definitely check out the livestream running on the weekend!
I'll be running the info dump thread and will be updating as updates come in. Unfortunately, I was extremely busy around the time of Genesis 2 and couldn't help out at all, but I'll almost certainly be available for BEAST 2.
Many players may not know everyone in the European scene, so here's a quick rundown on some of the players you can expect finishing high. These are the Top 8 from BEAST 1, excluding Pasi who placed 4th as he's not attending:
Calle W: One of Europe's most deadly Falcos, Calle W gets to show himself more at another major tournament. Calle W first came into the spotlight when he JV4'd Armada with Falcon, shortly after Armada almost defeated Mango at Genesis, and has become an even more talented player since. Calle W finished 7th at BEAST 1, which some considered disappointing, but he did have a tough bracket, losing to Amsah and later Zgetto. Calle W could redeem himself here and prove himself for being more than just hype.
Pamaro: Pamaro is a German Falcon, who placed 7th at BEAST 1, defeating Zgetto and Leffen along the way, making him the top placing Falcon. He's currently ranked 5th on the (somewhat outdated) Germany/Austria/Switzerland Power Rankings, and rivals Jeapie and Fuzzyness for top European Falcon.
Hack: Hack is a rising star from Sweden that hasn't gotten to prove himself much yet, similar to Calle W. At BEAST 1 however, Hack placed 5th with his Peach, Marth and more notably, his Kirby, defeating Pamaro and nearly defeating Ice, which has not really been seen at all in Smash history. Granted, Kirby is a lot better in the PAL version, but Kirby is still considered a terrible character and the victories are all because of Hack's abilities. Will his Kirby make another appearance or will he stick to his high tiers? And will we get to see another high placing from Hack?
Zgetto: Zgetto is a top Fox player and placed 5th at BEAST 1, and consistently places high at every major tournament. He's also the last player to defeat Armada at a European tournament and is one of the very few that are able to take games off of him. If he can play at his highest level all throughout the tournament, he stands a chance to win the whole thing and without having a set against Armada for a long time, Zgetto might get a chance to shine.
Ice: Hailing from Germany and unofficially dubbed as Europe's #3 right now, Ice has improved a lot recently and has a long winning streak outside of Armada and Amsah, defeating the likes of Zgetto, Pasi, Hack, Adam, and many others. He's a multi main that uses Marth, Fox and Sheik, and all of them are very impressive; Ice is essentially like a European Mew2King. Ice did have a more recent set with Amsah at a Netherlands tournament, losing, but finishing 2nd. With Ice's rate of improvement, it wouldn't be a colossal upset to see him take Amsah's spot, but Ice also isn't quite at the dominating level yet where he's guaranteed to even place in the top 3 for BEAST 2. This is Ice's next big chance to make it big!
Amsah: While Amsah hasn't defeated Armada for almost two years, he's continued to stop everyone else and consistently place 2nd. At BEAST 1, Amsah did have a somewhat close set with Ice, and Amsah recently lost a close set with Adam at a friendly tournament. Amsah should still be able to beat all challengers for his 2nd spot, but the gap may be shrinking. However, Amsah is determined and very competitive, so perhaps he'll surprise us against Armada. We'll have to see what happens.
Armada: What isn't there to say about Armada? Armada won BEAST 1 without dropping a single game, which was earned by defeating the crack Falcon Jeapie, the rising European star, Ice, and defeated Europe's #2 player Amsah 8-0! Armada also went on to claim first at Genesis 2, giving him his first international win and only lost one game to Hungrybox and two games to Mango. Armada is getting to a point where losing games is incredibly rare, let alone sets, let alone tournaments. It would be biased to say someone other than Armada will win unless Amsah or Ice have dramatically improved, but that would be phenomenal for their already superb levels.
These are only a few of the players attending BEAST 2. There will be roughly 140 players, all crammed into 16 Pools for Round 1. With the top players from the Netherlands, Finland, Italy, Germany, France, all of the Swedes that have come back from Genesis 2, and still more, the BEAST 2 Bracket is sure to have only the best of the best. Perhaps you were wondering what all the hype about Ice was? Ice has been getting better and better, and could possibly be a top player in the world very soon, so here's your chance to see him live in action! AJP will be recording all of the videos and helping with the livestream, so whether you're watching live or on Youtube later, you can ensure that the quality will be the best there is!
Notes and Information
The schedule is set for Doubles on Friday the 12th and Singles on Saturday the 13th, but there may be streamed friendlies on Thursday and Sunday. If there's enough time, there will also be Low Tiers or some other type of side tournament.
