Even Sakurai's aware this isn't the most thrilling of updates, with todays entitled "Items from Previous Installments." Thrilling!

A number of items from past Smash games appear in this one as well. But, of course, there are naturally many people who have never played any of those games. And even if you have, I still think I ought to explain these.

BeamSword
Hasn't changed much in the previous two installments, but in Brawl it's been given a much longer reach. I'm hoping that it's like the BeamSword from the demostation version of Melee, where the Sword started off rather short, but the more you swung it, the longer it got.
I'm expecting someone who'd watched all the E for All vids to post saying that it isn't like that. To them I say bah, it's just a demo.

Fire Flower

Just as always, shoots out a stream of fire. Oh note is the item's reverted to a more retro appearence, forsaking the "realistic" version from Melee.

Freezie
It freezes people, just like Melee.

Home Run Bat
Not suprisingly, the Home Run Bat's back as well. It was a bit of an obvious thing, what with previously announced Home Run Contest.
As per usual, each character has their own unique swing.

Party Ball
Pick it up, throw it, it floats in the air and stuff comes out. Same as always, though this picture shows a new item, some sort of watch or clock. I'm willing to bet it will either speed up or slow down gameplay, ala Slo-mo Melee/Lightning Melee with double/half speed. Or it could just give more time towards time mode.

Super Mushroom
It makes you big and stronger and stuff.
