Get Off My Stage - A Melee and Project M tournament for the Buffalo, NY area FGC

Event Info

We will be hosting the tournament at D'Youville College in DAC Building (D'Youville Academic Center) in room 409.
There will be both a Melee and Project M tournament, each with a $5 entry fee. 100% of the entry fees will make up the prize pool for each tournament respectively. Prize Pool distribution will be explained in the next sections.
The event is scheduled to start at 12:00 PM and run until 12:00 AM. Player sign ups will begin at 12:00 PM and will close at 1:00 PM with the start of the Melee tournament. This signup time is for both tournaments as we will jump right into the Project M tournament when Melee has concluded. If you're only interested in or able to attend the Project M tournament and will be showing up later, please reach out to myself or plixik to confirm your attendance. Late arrivals will be accepted if notified in advance and will not miss more than 1 round of the qualifier stage. Their opponent will be awarded a 2-0 victory.

Just a little bit on the venue rules...
There are two parking lots available to us - A and B lot. I would suggest A lot for convenience. You can park anywhere that is not a handicapped zone. Reserved parking is suspended on the weekends but I would recommend other spots if possible to avoid hassle.
There is no smoking in or on the campus. If you need a smoke break then you must go to the sidewalk or farther. This includes the parking lots, no smoking there. Obviously there is to be no alcohol or drugs.
The room we reserved is next to an open study area so please be mindful. I don't expect to see many students or faculty, if any at all, but if you do encounter them please be respectful. Hopefully we can continue to use this venue for future events.

Extras

We'll have 6 CRT's from the venue but can probably fit upto 10 in the room if people choose to bring extras.
We will also have 2 full PM setups but need help filling out the rest. So that's 4+ Wii's, 4+ Brawl discs, 6+ Melee discs. Extra power strips would also help greatly, the longer the cord the better.
I plan on dedicating 5 setups to tournament matches but this can change on the fly if things are going quickly or too slowly.
If you bring an extra SD card for PM setups then set it up with Project M 3.02 (Hackless Fullset) + TKBreezy's Tourney Pack v1 - or bring it blank (2 GB cards only) and I can set it up on the spot

What you should bring:
  • Your own controller (No wavebirds/wireless)
  • $5 entry fee for each tournament you plan to enter (singles or fives preferred, minimal change available)
  • A bag to keep your possessions (no one else is responsible for your stuff)
  • Food and drink or money to buy said sustenance
  • Lots of hype
  • Your A game
  • Salt
We also plan to stream the full event live on twitch.tv (www.twitch.tv/lilodot) and possibly upload VODs to youtube. I will be posting brackets on Challonge.com and updating them live.
