These used to be known as "The DZ Gaming Monthlies", but have recently been made less frequent. They're still just as hype so be sure to show up!

There are a variety of food options both within walking distance and a short drive away from the venue.

  • MAY NOT HAPPEN IF THERE ISN'T ENOUGH OUT OF REGION ATTENDANCE OR INTEREST.

Schedule

• 12:00 P.M. - Venue opens/signups Begin
• 2:00 P.M. - Project M Singles Begin
• ~4:00 P.M. - Melee Singles Begin
• ~6:00 P.M. - Mystery Game Begins!!!

Keep in mind that the times for Melee and Mystery Game are just approximations, and could start earlier or later than the specified time above. For this reason, it's best to get there early in order to sign up.

Ruleset

We'll be using the APEX 2014 ruleset, but we're also incorporating Bones' flex-sets for Melee. More info below.
Melee: Ruleset

• However, in a slight deviation from the ruleset above, we're experimenting with flexible set lengths in Melee. Essentially, until Winners/Losers finals all sets will be 2/3, unless the set goes to 1-1, in which case the set changes to a 3/5. In this scenario, the ban that has been placed on the set becomes irrelevant and you play the rest of the games as a typical best of 5 set.

Project M: Ruleset

Also, the tournament is being held in a local shop so please be respectful of yourself and everyone around you. And don't do anything illegal in the venue. The owner has every right to kick you out if he chooses.

Let me know what you guys think of flex sets. I'm curious if people feel like extended sets really make their matches with close opponents more hype/fair.
