OFFICIAL RULES FOR THIS MELEE TOURNAMENT

Game version: US Nintendo Gamecube

Game Settings: 4 Stock, 8 Minute Time Limit, 2/3 Games

Double Elimination

Items are not allowed in tournament play.

Stages allowed: Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams, Final Destination, Battlefield, Dream Land.

Stages for counter-picking: Pokemon Stadium.

Wobbling is legal.

Pause option is disabled in the game menu.

A different stage must be used in each game of a set, unless decided otherwise, by the gentlemens rule.

For the first match, characters are chosen double-blind - at the same time, so that neither player knows his opponent's character beforehand. In practice, this rule is often ignored, but players always reserve the option to force a double-blind pick.

The loser of the first match (and of successive matches) chooses the next stage, and then the winner chooses his character, and then the loser chooses his character. This series of choices is called slob picks.
