High School Smash (HSS) is a inter-high school Super Smash Bros. circuit, in which different High Schools compete against each other in Crew Battle Format. HSS also hosts tournaments specially for high schoolers to compete in.
The goals of HSS are to introduce more high schoolers to the competitive smash scene, to provide a unique form of competition to high schoolers, and to create a friendly community where high schoolers can join to have fun and meet new people.
It was founded in January 2015, and is based in Southern California.

Featuring HIGH SCHOOLER ONLY Brackets!
Pre-Registration will open a week prior to the event and will close 8 pm the day before.
LOCATION:
● Oneonta Congregational Church
● 1515 Garfield Ave, South Pasadena, CA 91030
● Main Hall in the center of the campus
COST:
● $5 venue fee with Pre-Registration
● $8 venue fee with no Pre-Registration
● $5 entrance fee per event
● If you bring a full setup, you will get free concessions. A full setup consists of a TV, console, and the game copy.

● 9:30 - Venue Opens
● 10:30 - 10:45 - Smash 4 (WiiU) Singles Begins (Reg. ends 30m before)
● 2:00 - Lunch Break/HSS Crew Battles!
● 2:45 - 3:00 - Melee Doubles Begins (Reg. ends 30m before)
● 4:00 - 4:15 - Melee Singles Begins (Reg. ends 30m before)
● 10:00 - Venue Closes
FOOD:
● Concessions are offered at the venue
● IN-N-OUT, Pizza Hut, etc. in walking distance
PRIZES:
● Will be determined based on # of entrants
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
● Singles - Double Elimination Bracket Pools, Top 4 Make it Out into a Top 16 Double Elimination Bracket
● Doubles - Double Elimination Bracket
● Best of 5 sets: Winners' Semis, Winners' Finals, Losers' Semis, Losers' Finals, Grand Finals'
● Brackets and Pools will be created based off of past performances and what schools' players attend
MELEE RULESET:
● 4 Stocks
● 8 Minute Time Limit
● Items OFF
SMASH 4 (WiiU) RULESET:
● 2 Stocks
● 6 Minute Time Limit
● Items OFF
● Customs OFF
STAGE STRIKING/SELECTION:
● Players eliminate stages from the Starter/Neutral list until
there is one stage remaining.
● RPS to determine who strikes first.
● Strike stages 1-2-1 (MELEE) or 1-1 (Smash 4 WiiU)
● After each game in a set, the winner can ban one stage, and the loser picks from the remaining stages.
● Players must switch characters before choosing the stage if they want to, with the winner switching first
● A player cannot pick a stage that they previously won on during the set, unless agreed to by both players
ALLOWED STAGES
MELEE:
● Starters: Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams (Singles Only), Final Destination, Battlefield, Dream Land, Pokemon Stadium (Doubles Only)
● Counterpick: Pokemon Stadium
SMASH 4 (WiiU):
● Starters: Smashville, Final Destination, Battlefield
● Counterpicks: Delfino Plaza, Castle Siege, Lylat Cruise, Halberd, Town & City, Duck Hunt
