Well, my latest (only) combo video was released a few weeks ago.. or two weeks ago or something. It was titled, "Take that, Sakurai!". It exclusively featured clips that happened AFTER Brawl's release, hence the title. I only made it for fun and as a tribute to Melee's continuing community.
I did not expect it to get good reception... however, everyone absolutely loved it. Some hailed it as the greatest combo video ever, and others said it was better than Metagame. Some said that I should have made Metagame.
So, here's the idea: I want to make something of a crossup between Take that Sakurai and Metagame. It will be comprised of footage made in 2008 and on, adding a few months to my timeframe. It will also feature MANY characters. Maybe only half the cast, maybe more, maybe less. I don't know yet. However, I will not adhere strictly to Gimpy's formula of using music from the characters' respective series. I will, however, try to use music that's appropriate for the character. (i.e. J-rock for Marth, fast music for Fox, etc)
I expect this to be longer than Metagame, regardless of the lack of some characters, but we'll see how that works out.
This video will not be out for a while. At least after Genesis. SOOO much good stuff will happen there, and it'd be a **** shame to not have it on this video. There are two reasons I made this thread so far in advance. The trivial reason was to hype it up. People get excited, then months go by, they forget about it, then I bring it up again, and people get excited again, and it's released. The more important reason....
PLEASE BEGIN SUBMITTING FOOTAGE TO ME NOW. One problem with Metagame was that there was TOO much footage to watch in order to find good clips. East Coast complained about its lack of representation, and Gimpy said that people didn't submit footage. PLEASE DO THAT BEGINNING NOW. IT ISN'T HARD. Just PM me a Youtube video and say WHAT to look for
Don't post it, then the thread will get too cluttered with too many videos, not enough hype.
Well, I don't want the clips to be spoiled either.
Post it here if you must, but it'd be better for you to PM, AIM, or YouTube it to me.
