Advice against Sonic?

I have a friend that's retardedly good against Sonic and I usually feel completely overwelmed when I fight him. I usually handle myself fine against everyone else but Sonic is by far his best character. I can't seem to handle Sonic's speed. Any advice?

Jump whenever he gets close. He'll be forced to fair, and this helps make things a little more predictable.

Yo-yos kill his speed. I play Sonics and that's all I really need. Yo-yo's and air.

Try to predict when he's coming at you and PK fire ahead of time. That will delay him and then can run up and bat him or something.

Sonic`s moves are repetitive - if not predictable already.
Yupp. Like Earthbound360 has said, Ness`s air-game is unbelivable compared to Sonic`s.
Would a few PK Fires stop him dead in his track?​
