happy shade of sad

It’s a happy shade of sad
that wets a mother’s eyes;
for all that is, she is glad
and tells her pride.

Like to the shade
that streaks the setting sun;
that restless hue made
when day is done.

A happy shade that warms the sound
of friends’ goodbyes--
though each be singly bound,
not an end
or a severing of ties.

A happy shade of sad
animates the look of an old toy
sitting on the shelf,
or the dreams of a young boy
who was not so different from yourself.

But this does not last,
like every brush and hue;
stop to turn the hourglass;
reveal colors bright and new.

I was kind of down when I wrote this. Thoughts? Grammar issues? Criticism?

Sincerity at it's finest. I found this very indepth, and straight to the point. I also liked how you used different punctuation, and symbols giving it more life. Nicely pieced together. What I felt when I read this was -

Time gives birth to new shades that play their roles as our catalyst to win against our darkest times.

Great, I'm glad you liked it! I made an adjustment in the last stanza. The ending seemed a little out of place.
