Hello friends. I posted this in a few smash related communities, but after receiving a few questions here I though it might be a good idea to have the basics posted here as well.
Just a heads up, Stage sharing is a thing now and it's awesome.
Browsing and sharing stages in game is a breeze. From the main menu, just hit online, and then share. From there the options are super easy to the point they're basically self explanatory.
You can also search a specific user by tapping on the activity feed in Miiverse and looking for the search users bar in the top right corner:

Unfortunately the filters are not very good for tracking down specific stages you might like the look of. Luckily there are multiple communities that have been working around this since before stage sharing was ever a thing. The most notable of them being reddits own Stages sub:

Smashboards also has 2! threads going with a different selection available in each:

The easiest way to share your stages outside of Miiverse is by linking your Miiverse account to one of these communities.
For those that are interested you can find Mii here: https://miiverse.nintendo.net/users/TheThunderPunch/posts
Before sharing stages though keep in mind that for anything made before the Mewtwo update you will have to go back and save the stage agian before you can share it.
To download the stages from Miiverse, just give the stage a Yeah! Or better yet, follow the user. After witch you'll be able to open Miiverse on your Wii U and the stage will be in your activity feed. Just tap the post and tap the Smashbros icon to download.
The icon should look like this:
