Imhip was incredibly close to taking that, what an amazing set my heart couldn't take much more.

IMhip vs Zinoto game 4 was... such a quick, clean, hype comeback

I knew the philosophy of Olimar play and that he was pretty good, but i finally know how it actually works

This just makes me more irritated by Esam's placement of Duck Hunt. Like being that ignorant bothers me.
It's bothered me for ages.

One time he told me that Mewtwo's neutral isn't good. Like . . . what?

Tyrant does bad against people he can't just abuse or has to play patiently against. Losing to I'm hip doesn't surprise me as he lost to Vicegrip when he could have just slowed it down with a superior killing potential. Just slow it down and group yourself.

Anyways, it's Larry Lurr 3-2 in a very close set over Zinoto in Losers Finals, preventing a Diddy v Diddy Grand Finals.

Of course, now it's time for his salty runback against Zer0.

I'm glad we got to see more 1.1.6 Bayonetta this weekend, since I have no idea where that character sits right now. She seems less focused on ABDK since it doesn't convert into anything, but she still has decent mid percent conversions with her other combo starters. Also seems like Witch Time was used a lot more to seal stocks.

I'm glad this character wasn't completely gutted. I can see her meta developing more (especially her edgeguarding) but also counterplay developing more based on her large SDI modifiers. At the end of it all though, I think she'll still remain a good character.

This just makes me more irritated by Esam's placement of Duck Hunt. Like being that ignorant bothers me.
It's purely an opinion based list. He recognized Duck Hunt's Japanese results, but just glossed over them because he thinks Duck Hunt isn't good. Personally, I think his status as a top level player makes his opinion inherently valuable, though obviously we shouldn't take it as gospel. Also, when a character keeps defying expectations like Duck Hunt has, it's probably best to take a step back and think "what am I missing" rather than being belligerent.

The thing with bayo is that people doesn't play safe against her, you still see people jumping with aerials against her, throwing moves until they connect, bayonetta is punish and edgeguard character just look how DJ Fliphop beat Captain Zack he played safe going for grabs didn't over extend to much, she has a hard time killing and has average neutral, people need to exploit that more.

Well, Fox's rapid jab confirmed for unpunishable.

And Larry Lurr has beaten Zer0 two sets in a row to take 2GGT: Mexico Saga.

Much hype.

After a grueling 15 games and 3 sets, Larry defeats ZeRo 3-2, totaling 8-7.

As far as I'm aware, the two are 10-10 in games and 2-2 in sets, which you account for GOML.

It seems like the strongest predictor of ZeRo losing is my internet crapping out.

Congrats to Larry, though. I think he played the :4diddy: MU about as well as I've ever seen.

alright but real talk, where is Fox really at on the tierlist, I've seen it discussed like once and that was before Bayonetta was added

Pretty much everybody thinks he's top tier, but they generally rate him below the ones with no actual weaknesses (i.e. Diddy, Cloud, Shiek if you ask some people)

Interesting things from ZeRo's after tourney interview:

He's picked up Cloud (by which I mean he's using him in tourney matches, everyone has a pocket Cloud :secretkpop:), but isn't sure what matchups to use him in. He switched to Cloud for his second game with Nicko's Shulk after going to basically last hit game 1 with Diddy.

He's not confident about fighting Larry's Donkey Kong with Sheik, or Sheik vs DK in general.

nannerham nannerham Did Esam actually use Corrin during the tourney? I didn't see him pull it out.

He's actually PR'd in Louisiana, as of now.

At 3rd.
My mistake. I could've sworn he told me MS.

Wherever he is, he's getting good results

EDIT: He lives in MS, competes in LA

Larry Lurr's Fox defeated Zero's Diddy Kong in 2 sets of Grand Finals, going 8-7 with Zero the entire tournament.

2GGT wasn't a major but I consider it a Super Regional because there was quite a bit of talent there. Does this mean Fox has the potential to win a major? And is Fox a top character?

Because I talked about them in another post: Kirby's short so attacks are hard to hit, he can copy sun salutation, he can duck under a good portion of Wii Fit's attacks, and he's one of the few characters that can genuinely challenge Wii Fit off stage. Still, the Kirby/Wii Fit issue is easily solved by having a counterpick which, given the current state of the metagame, is pretty much becoming the standard aside from a handful of characters and a majority of Wii Fit players agree that the Kirby match up is the only one where it's essential to have one. This is hardly a damning thing either given it's pretty much the same case for a lot of other good characters too like Ness, DK, and arguably even Mario (for :4mewtwo: and :4sonic:).
What I meant was Pikachu doesn't deserve the title of "worst matchup for WFT" regardless of Kirby being easy to counterpick

Picked up =/= Switches.

If anything he'll switch to Ryu since he's 'in a league of his own'

We'll see. It's grossly apparent that his confidence in Sheik has dropped significantly so a switch of some kind seems inevitable. Cloud seems more likely just because of the significantly smaller learning curve while Ryu's probably the hardest top/high tier to get good with outside of Pikachu.

It seems Pikachu is starting to get results outside of ESAM

Also two Marths and two Yoshis?

I'm not sure how "good" New Mexico is

Dakpo only dropped 2 games the entire tourney as far as smash.gg shows lol.
