Sorry I'm a bit late on the Umebura 18 stuff, was on vacation.
Here are the ones I think haven't been listed yet:
Degree 2:
Ice [あいす] Victory over Abadango
Degree 4:
Kameme [かめめ] (Kamemushi [かめむし]) + Others over Octo
FILIP Victory over kept
KENT ?? I can't find any recent footage. Victory over Manzoku
T Victory over kept
Nasubi [なすび]Victory over Paseriman
I'll try to link as many of my Wii Fit stuff as I can.
Evo - Top 32 with Wii Fit Trainer and Mii Gunner
Beat DKWill and others. Gotta find the list of names. Haven't been able to find these individual lists from Evo.
I don't know if placings count for this rather than showing who you beat from these notable players, but beating dkwill should be enough to get you on tbh
Updating the third post tables (doing the usage one now, will update this post while I'm doing it, lol)
Also that Mexican G&W from EVO... I don't have a known link for him to add him.
Actually I don't have much of evo results (specifics) either. Capt Awsum over Rain? etc
---
Diddy halves; probably would've happened earlier had I done a clear out, but nevertheless
Sheik continues to rise. Now is higher than Diddy ever was.
Rosa, ZSS, MK, Sonic, Ness and Villager continue to have good growth in representation.
So as the discussion of who should be "notable" on Diddy/Sheik in recent pages I thought I would actually initiate that part of the process officially.
I'm looking at filling up the quota; five or so players per character (possible with some leeway for regional divides to have more). Bringing up characters (a few at a time?) to focus on hopefully promotes clarifying of results and head to head match ups, sharing of related videos, etc.
Even if there are more than five representatives to be listed, they should all be at a similar "level" (ambiguous). Oh and if we don't think there are at least five players worthy we can cut it short.
Generally the first degrees would automatically be above second degrees in selection but that's just a rule of thumb (but will be a decider on contentious grounds).
Sheik
I'm going to preemptively select the following:
[America] ZeRo (1st place x3 at nationals+)

We're looking for around or up to the five most notable players per character, but perhaps several more based around continental provisions. Bringing up characters to focus on hopefully promotes clarifying of results and head to head match ups, sharing of related videos, etc.

Not entirely sure what this is about, especially the underlined part. Are you asking for input on whom we think deserves to be singled out?
Also, I'll probably add some results from Germany soon if I can find results. Germany's considered the stronges region in europe and it'd definitely add some weight to this project if you could have some of their players here.
False, VoiD, and K9 should be on the list for the US I'd say. Those are the 3 best US Sheiks (if we say that ZeRo is Chile). Nietono plays Fox now so listing him under Sheik would probably be wrong. Listing Shu and Nyanko for Japan makes sense (Edge is a Diddy Kong player I thought?) given their track record in Japan and notable victories over there. There's a bunch of random Japanese Sheiks that are really good for some reason but those two are definitely the most notable outside Rain.
Phuzix and Master Raven are probably worth listing as well but my guess is that it would be too many at that point.
For Diddys Jtails/Zinoto/Edge are the most important of that list I'd say.
e: forgot about J! and didn't know Edge plays Sheik, would say Shu's performances are deserving enough though
Edge plays Sheik a lot more now, and based on results he will likely be Degree 1 once I finally get the results up. He's considered a Top 5 Japanese player, being 3rd on the Umebura rankings as well. imo Top 5 Japanese Sheiks are Rain, Edge, Nyanko, Shu, J! at the moment if we don't count Nietono who mostly plays Fox now.
Vinnie has better results and wins so for the USA he should be ranked as 2nd .
Overall I think the order for Sheik players should be: Zero > Mr r > Rain [gap] Edge / Nyanko / Vinnie; That would be 6 but idk which one I'd leave out if you stick to a strict top 5 formula.
So, since the last update to this thread to date, I've managed to win against the following Degree 1 players: NAKAT, juice.Doom, Keitaro, Zee, NinjaLink, AeroLink, and MikeKirby, all with . Granted, a lot of these were really close, but we take those, right? I don't have direct links to the tournament results on hand right now, but I can go and find them if you really need me to.
Considering Lucina has no players currently listed, would it be worth listing Nairo as a Lucina player? He only plays her when he's joking around with his opponent, but he usually wins when he does. I think he's beaten False and Angel Cortes.
ya nairo's lucina has actually done stuff (I can't quote results rn but I know he's taken stuff off relevant tristate players in the past) which is more than any lucina can claim. it's his joke character but his lucina is really good.
Ryo should have Lucina listed along with Ike. Legitimately used her against Static Manny's Roy in Grand Finals. Used Ike in Winners Finals, won both times but his Lucina had an easier time.

Ryuga beat Ally in Winners Finals lost twice in Grand Finals
Sethsational beat Ksev in Winners Quarters lost in Loser Semifinals
Ally beat Ksev in Losers Finals
Viev and Nom beat KC in losers and winners
I'm not sure about characters since I didn't watch any of these sets personally, so maybe @Hitman JT
or @DunnoBro
could confirm. Just trying to figure a way to get Le Troof on here for Bowser next update.
Also @Shaya
the first post needs an update sometime to reflect the new character/user additions, whenever you have time, of course!
Zork's Bowser beat Jonny Westside's Samus. Zork also beat Zan, but I understand that Zan wasn't going Toon Link at this tournament, so I'm unsure if that would be counted too.
Definitely wasn't using my DHD those days. Some combination of yoshi/sonic/mario. Though snow has beaten it before, even in customs when I finally mastered custom DHD. He also beat fataility so not sure how he isn't at least degree 2. Very underrated player.
