I should look into getting our local events into smashboards rankings. It wouldn't likely catapult any of us into this (maybe Shaky?), but it would be nice for our players to be a bit less invisible.

I think if Texas got their act together, Shaky is a degree 2 by virtue of TGC1 beating Denti and Fliphop http://challonge.com/TGC1singles/standings http://smashboards.com/threads/official-tgc-event-1-209-entrants-houston-tx.393025/I should look into getting our local events into smashboards rankings. I still haven't gone through with iteration #1 yet. I'm expecting a bit of clarity from the Texans soon-ish and won't be looking at third degrees yet. However, this is all perfectly valid for the near future.I suppose I'll go on to 3rd degree Japanese Players.
Kirihara[キリハラ] Ranked 9th on the Umebura point rankings, placing 6th at Umebura 13. Knocked aMSa out of winners and eliminated Nietono in losers at Umebura 13.
The next two are based on results of Super Sumabato, a tournament held the 5th of April.
Edge[エッジ] Winner of Super Sumabato, 2nd place at Sumabato 2. Defeated Choco at Super Sumabato.
Saiya[サイヤ] 2nd place at Super Sumabato. Defeated Choco at Super Sumabato.
Shaky also met M2K in Grand Finals coming from Losers, and he reset the bracket against M2K. If you're counting sets as well you could use that.I'll be updating the list sometime tomorrow (1 week in), with the following suggestions.
If any additions come in that fulfill the requirements (post #2) they'll be added as well.
NA Diddy/Sheik are free for people to put suggestions forward (they likely do have to be noted/degree 1s though), but it may be a little too early still.

You probably shouldn't use "Rayquaza", "Ubers", and "Borderline", because any Pokemon player that knows what those terms are referring to will think that they signify the strength of the character rather than their usage, and obviously this isn't supposed to be an actual tier list. Just stick to OU, UU, RU and NU. Maybe make up another one if you want.Okay, listed updated~
Third post now listing iteration #2 suggestions.
"Character Power Ranking" List [for no sake whatsoever]
Rayquaza:
Uber:
Overused:
Borderline:
Underused:
@ Noa. I'll note that!
And that's apart of the system's goals to change. Top 60 right now was a magic number that seemed to cover multiple regions relatively well. Mexico, Australia and perhaps West Coast/Centre Canada don't have any distinctive links right now, but most other areas do. Texas were not uploading most of their results to the rankings before this and they also felt they wouldn't be able to break "other bigger regions" too. Either way, Alphicans does become a 2nd degree link for the region now, it's a start. As for the region thing, some regions just have smaller tourney scenes. You can't expect a single isolated Canadian city to have a scene like New York, SoCal, Texas or Chicago, with many top level players. Sheer population wise, New York metropolitan has almost as many people in it as all of Canada, after all. I'm just saying that in situations where a player has only a single major tournament appearance, there shouldn't be any reason that online tournaments can't be used as supporting evidence for their abilities! There are also regions like NorCal that don't report on Smashboards frequently at all, despite being fairly large.
The distinction would be the word "use" rather than "power". It's really just a representation of the first post. It just so happened those titles fit in the current things well. Also this is slight homage to the Brawl character rankings list which used those terms as well (and at some stages MK was put into Rayquaza tier or whatever, lol). Maybe make up another one if you want.
]As a result, he fought Zex with a loss under his belt already for entry into the most stacked pool of the tourney, the one with Zero, False, K9, Player-1, Zucco, K9, and Max Ketchum among others. It was the most lopsided pool in general, which is sad for many good players (such as Zex himself!)
Actually, I am more known as AeroLink, ever since my super active Project M days. I was ALSM (abbreviation for AeroLink the SoulMaster for those who don't know) in Brawl (which I am now realizing a lot of the players from South Texas still see me as that lol), but I would appreciate it if you would change it to AeroLink, who I am most known as. That way you won't get confused comments from other people. He's commonly tagged as ALSM. He's the one person under Palutena right now
Because he hasn't lost a tournament since november. He actually hasn't lost a set since november and rarely loses games. What makes ZeRo so good? Commentators and competitors say that he is a tier of his own; like brawl ice climbers.
no ****......seriously...... you honestly don't think I knew this or something of the sort.....its kinda silly how i need to spell out every word so people would understand. My question is: Why does he dominate every tournament he goes to? He consistently places very high and I wonder why nobody else has even rivaled him.Because he hasn't lost a tournament since november. He actually hasn't lost a set since november and rarely loses games.
So, GimR's basically James J. Braddock or Micky "Irish" Ward? Cool, he's a gatekeeper or stepping stone for everyone. No offense, GimR; I love your 9 Judge shenanigans and your Falco.GimR now will classify as a degree 1 G&W, which will be interesting due to how many degree 2s that opens up haha.
Rankings seem awkward kinda, Megafox is more of 20th/21st, unless the system is "this person has more points or barely less points than you in X amount of brackets compared to your Y so they're better for having a lot of points in less tournaments"But for one, Megafox is now 24th, from like 66th. GimR now will classify as a degree 1 G&W, which will be interesting due to how many degree 2s that opens up haha. AverageJoe, Espy, Tweek also join degree 1.
