One thing I used to love about the old forum was all the icons regularly used even in the main forums. It feels less colourful when I go to 'Brawl character discussion' and don't see any familiar icons next to each character, haha.

Also, I noticed for a small time today as well that the custom post colours came and went.

Umm... there's definitely stuff i'd love to see, I think my biggest complaint at the moment is that i'd really love the social groups to get back up here, some of them are really high-level traffic areas and I don't want to see some of them die because of the down time haha. ^_^

For anyone who doesn't realise what i mean, i'm just saying that sometimes when you have a group that is one of the big reasons a person is coming, then take it away long enough, the person will likely go inactive for a time, and this can happen with multiple people.

But anyway, I might post more later and sorry if i've already posted something that other people have.

They're back definitely. You may have to change the display on the account preferences.

Hover the cursor over your username on the top of every page. Now click on Preferences. Look for the option "Hide Custom Post Colors:" and select "No" if it is set as "Yes."

It somehow changed it to Yes even when I hadn't changed it.

disabled it in user prefs
the BBCE works just fine

use firefox as a secondary for when IE's typing box likes to be stupid
use chrome if for some reason the typing box is tiny ass hell but supposed to be for a wall of text (you can resize the typing boxes e only with chrome as far as i know without taking on a bajillion addons)

I usually go for the BBCE anyways...
the only problem I have here with IE is nearly the same as on KC-MM...

here...
when typing a certain length of text, BackSpace and Delete will start to act funky and shift the text around...
(either to the bottom line (BackSpace), or to some random position near the top of the text (Delete))

KC-MM shifts the text to a line below the editor for any character...
(why I say it's similar)

both issues (here and KC-MM) are easily resolved by turning on compatibility view

I just found this thread and I'd like to offer some feedback. My apologies if everything I said was mentioned already - I only did a super quick skim of the rest of this thread.

1) No multiquote makes it really hard to reply to threads. I used to read through a thread and if I felt like replying to a particular post, I would select it with the multiquote feature and then could continue reading the rest of the thread. This was super convenient as I could select the important posts and when I was done reading the thread they would all be waiting on the "Post Reply" screen. With the new software I constantly have to scroll back and forth between where I was in the thread and the reply box at the bottom.

2) All posts since 1 year ago are marked as unread by default ever since the software switch. This means that the feature which marks forums as having "Unread messages" is completely useless since all forums display that they have unread messages. Is there a way I can mark all posts as read?

3) The forum search seems to be pretty ineffective. Does it only go through posts that were made on the new software? I was trying to find some old posts and no results were coming up even for some simple searches (that I'm pretty sure should have turned something up).


I will say that I think most links to old smashboards threads were broken when the switch was first made, but that seems to be working now so thanks for fixing that.

yes, use PNG, and set an alpha transparency mask on the areas you want transparent
