3.5 stage expansion problem

So I replaced 11 stages of the 36 stages that are given in the expansion and it crashes whenever I press start on the character select screen. Any idea what I did wrong? Also how do I make it less than 36 custom stages because libertyernie mentions using the code in the files from the download you can do a 16 or 12 stage expansion. Also, what is the image size of the prevbase supposed to be decreased to? I also checked my stage builder and it looks like I have gone over the common 5 file number 1387530/1214283. Is that why my game is crashing?

Please help me asap, I want to be able to play on custom stages! Thanks.
