So, here's a place to talk about my custom build. Comment, tell me any issues you guys have, or just talk.

As for reporting issues, there's something to note:

1) First and foremost, read both the BrawlVault description, AND the included Readme.

Also, I'd like for you guys to take some screenshots of the build so I have a wide variety of previews.

To anyone who passes through and cares, the update simply has rim lighting for the Pokemon starters, Pit, and a few others, along with a fix for ZSS's rim effect.

As for a meaningful comment: I do like what I see in the screenshots, but it doesn't look like I can download it to take a further look. The site throws up a 403 error. Still, I suggest you keep up the good work.

About those errors... I've admittedly been getting 509's whenever I try to edit it.

EDIT: Got a fix for Dream Land, but it isn't up yet. Gonna see if there's anything else that I can change.

Oh, I almost forgot. I updated it again, with Rim for Ice Climbers, and some stage changes. Mushroomy Kingdom and a new PM Spear Pillar take up their vBrawl slots, while Meta Cavern and Saffron are ported over to the old expansions slots(Spear Pillar, Mushroom Kingdom:1).

Guess what time it is? It's UPDATE TIME!! Well, soon. I'm making the zip right now.

Anyways, the build's far from dead. Whether your using the default build or not, I'd recommend a full reinstall. I've made enough changes for it to be a real pain in the side to try to update manually.

Obligatory Lackluster Changelog:

Sound, Module, and Stage folders completely redone. Changes in the fighter folder: captain*, diddy, dedede, donkey*, gamewatch, zelda, zako(word here), yoshi, wario, szerosuit, sheik*, samus, robot, pokezenigame, pokelizardon, lucario.

I would replace that stage, if it has a non updated collision data effects tether grabs, etc;
Like on Metal Cavern where the slope used to mess up those kind of attacks. It was like that near the end of the stage where the two platforms rise.

If it's fixed, keep it, if not, don't.

Speaking of collision edits, I've done some of my own. Namely, you'll notice that icy parts of stages tend to not make you slip anymore, and that some places have more grabbable ledges.....

This might just be me, but... could you make a full list of the features in your build? I have terribly slow internet, and I'd rather not download the whole pack just to find out it has the exact same stuff as my current custom build. I'm not asking for a ton of screenshots or anything, just an overview of textures, stages, etc.

Some of the models are glitchy. For instance, Purple Diddy's arm and jetpack textures are missing.
Oh, I fixed them in the update I'm working on. :p

Anyways, this update is BIG. I'm going to upload a list of what the update has, then make a changelist from there.

Hey Rage,Brinstar froze the build when I picked it on the SSS. What should I do?
Your problem will be fixed in a way when I get the new release out. I'll be using a custom-made(me using the bg and platform from two different hacks) Brinstar based off of Final Destination, free of rage-inducing(get it? :D ) acid. Norfair is getting the same treatment as well.

Depends. What kind of platforms? I can't figure blender out but I could probably do that with retextured platforms from other stages.

Any type of platforms, just textured to fit the stage, and in a Battlefield/Final Destination like layout, but not a straight copy. :p

Alright, I got a basic mock-up of the course, done in 5 seconds in paint.net just to see how you like the view and platform arrangement. I can change whatever's needed/wanted (obviously the final will not have pink lines as platforms).

That layout actually looks pretty nice. The only thing that i'd suggest is some adjustments to the platforms(a bit more subtle angle, and sized/spaced a bit closer and smaller in relation to the main one.)
UPDATE: I finished step 1: Removing the annoying cars from the original stage. Here's that version to whoever wants it.
Cool! I'll use this in the meantime. :)

Yeah, I was thinking something like that. Also, I thought that removing the cars would be the most difficult part, so I can actually try to have this done (or at least a rough version) by the weekend.

It seems like Earthbound can be repped(in stage form) in a competitive form soon! :)

You know, the first stage edit I ever did was a competitive version of a Giygas stage back in Project M 2.5. It was terribly broken (there was a spot where you could accidentally fall through the main platform :facepalm:), but with what I know now I could potentially fix it up pretty easily after I finish this.

Also: Making good progress on Onett, here's the changed view without platforms or modified collisions. For the main platform I was thinking a re-sized, non-slippery version of Fourside's UFO.

I like the idea of using Fourside's UFO a lot. It keeps the Earthbound theme very simply. As for the platforms, just remember that random floating objects for platforms is apparently logical in Smash. xD

Alright, with a bit of difficulty I got the UFO to work as a platform. And I'm starting to think about something like this for the platform layout. It's a somewhat flattened version of Battlefield's, and I think combined with the small bump on the UFO it could make for some relatively unique dynamics. Also I'll make a version with and without platforms, because why not? (BTW: Ignore the fact that there is currently clipping on the UFO, I'm using Final Destination's collisions as a placeholder :p)

Interesting... I've got the no-platform stage working, with the correct collisions, but when testing, finishing a game on the stage immediately drops the FPS to zero on Dolphin. It doesn't crash... it just, stops. No idea what could be causing that, but I'll try figuring it out tomorrow. If anyone has any clue what the problem could be, please tell me.
