It's an Event in of itself.

Once again, Sakurai has brought back another familiar mode to us: Event Mode. For the uninformed, Event Mode is essentially prearranged situations and goals made for you to work out that would not normally occur in other single playeror multiplayer modes.

In this event you play as Mario as you duke it out with King DeDeDe and King Koopa. The twist here is that both kings are teamed up.

In this event, you are tasked with keeping Kirby off your Halberd at all cost. If the platform lands on the Halberd before you knock Kirby off, you lose.

Pretty simple task, destroy all the terrain in Skyworld. Though the translation on the DOJO doesn’t accurately explain how Wario is assisting.

I bet, depending on the difficulty this might become a pain, but in this event you are required to get both of your enemies in eggs simultaneously.

The most loved fight of them all that first took place in Adventures of Link, the duel between Link and the ashes of Ganon within Link, also known as Dark Link. this match is stamina based so this fight is very similar to the real thing.

Yea, but it does add more push that he's deconfirmed, than it confirms him. Then again, we were all sure Dedede would be an unlockable. He totally deserves to be in brawl anyway.

Yeah, for all the doubters, everyone on the Dojo except the third-parties are starters, there's no doubt now.

Also, this is the best update of the month, bar none. Beating all of them(hopefully 70+) on every difficulty is going to be a massive challenge, but the addition of easy mode will make sucky people like me able to beat things like the last Trophy Fight in Melee without as much trouble as before.

I have a sneaking suspicion that beating the Dark Link event on a certain difficulty will earn him as an alternate costume. Seeing as though each character now has "about" 6 costumes, it would only make sense that some of more unique ones are unlockable (just like the vast majority of fighting games with alternate costumes).

Maybe Dedede is a starter. It seems that way.

Then again, that could be the Event mode where you unlock King Dedede. I don't know why nobody thought of that alternative.

There's either 50 or 100 event matches. If you notice the boxes under where it says "Events," you see there are 10 boxes.

5 pictures of events fit into each screen, or it could be 10 because they were unlocked in groups of 10 in Melee.

Either one could apply.

The second event has a picture of a Landmaster.

It looks like you can use your name thingy for the event high scores now. i like this cuz before we would argue about who really got the quickest time in event 51 and there was never a good way to prove it. also.....

Explain. I don't see your reasoning. And who says these are the exact events as they will be? Remember Melee? They could reorder them and unlock as you get more characters...

The fact that they are numbered, showing #1 to be the one with Dedede.

And they never reordered them in Melee. They always stayed as the same number. Unless you mean unlock.

But this is just a demonstration. until the game launches we have no idea if they will stay in that order, or if you will even have access to this mode before unlocking a certain number of characters in Story Mode.And I meant in Melee some events only become available after certain characters are unlocked, right?

I don't see how this de-confirms K. Rool. I'm not particularly for him, but if he was in, and was unlockable, there could be a 'Trouble King 2' with three enemies at the same time.

As for Krystal . . . Um, forgive me for being dense, but what does this have to do with her at all? I'm sincerely curious.

The second event mode is obviously a Starfox-Themed event, but was not mentioned in the update itself for some reason. Some people are jumping to conclusions.

I enjoyed this update =D Best one this week, I'd say.

I'm glad they made the different difficulty settings for the obvious reasons that I'll be playing the single player modes a lot longer than normal. Good stuff.

And 100 event matches would be awesome.

I'm jumping to the Falco conclusion. I have no reason or backing except for a hope I have since he was in Melee and could be reworked after Assault and Command. It could be Krystal because she could be a starter due to popularity, but I hope both are in, don't care which is unlockable.

That's my off-topic moment. I was never a big fan of events, because I'm probably mediocre at best and they tend to frustrate me having to do specific crap. Just let me beat people up the way I want to. But maybe this time will be different.

About the "cleaning house in skyworld" event - I'm pretty sure Wario tries to attack you, and happens to help destroy the stage by doing so. How else could he both "get in the way" and "help out"?

Does the small picture for the first event fight show off one of King Dedede's taunts? It looks like that to me! :D

im pretty sure that the dark link event has instead of 300% stamina its 200%

varies by difficulty and handicap?

that would give stamina mode a bit more edge to it but events were always different than what you could do in the actual multi-player mode

anyway great update but im still hoping that maybe there will be custom events mode

oh yeah it looks like there are 49 events on the screen in the mode (4 on the first 5 on the rest) so 50+ events? thats what im hoping for (or just 50 because thats alot of events especially with difficulties)

also may be you can get harder difficulties after beating the event on hard? like once you beat it on hard you can try it on very hard and then you can try it on intense after you beat that........ at least that would add to this event mode

I remember in melee that you fought bowser a second time with luigi. Don't be surprised if another "king" match pops up and you must face King K. Rool along with the other kings....

I'd expect another event called "King of the Hill".

Well, not confimed, but it adds some speculation. Event #2 is a Star Fox themed Event. It's th only event of the first 7 that is not described in the update, and it shows a landmaster Tank, rather than a character and stage, like the other updates show.

Meaning Event #2 has something to do with Star Fox that they aren't showing us yet. So I just guessed Krystal.

Well, it's pretty simple. Nothing confirmed, just some logical speculation. Everyone that was in the Demo except for Sonic, added in to soften the blow of the delay, is probably a starter. That's 14 guys counting ZSS.

Pokemon Trainer, Kirby, and Wario are on the cover of the Box Art, so they're probably starters. That's 17.

Lucas and Ice Climbers have no reason to be unlockables, since Melee had both a Mother starter and Ice Climbers. 19.

People were skeptical as to whether all 3 Kirby characters would be unlocked from the start, and I say this proves it. I -really- doubt the first Event Match is going to be unlockable, it may reward you with an unlockable King Dedede, but on the FIRST event match? Doesn't seem likely. Plus, this match is an exact parallel to the first Event Match in Melee, so I doubt it's going to be locked or something.

Um...I don't think they ever actually re-ordered any of the Melee events either. They just tacked on a few more depending on the unlockables you'd acquired. IIRC, Ganondorf wasn't unlockable until event match 29 or so, and Pichu wasn't until like 37.King Dedede could well be unlockable in the first one, because this isn't Melee. We'll see.

Anyways, with King Dedede, that's the 20 guys on the Dojo. I didn't count Sonic and Snake because being guests, they don't really deserve the starter position and were announced for hype.

If ZSS isn't her own character slot, that's 19 characters, kind of a weird number for starters, so I'm guessing Krystal, Captain Falcon, and maybe a few others as starters, who will be revealed in the following months on the Dojo.

Oh, I apologize in advance if my logic is terrible, I'm seriously tired and not sure if I'm thinking straight...

The most important thing this pic confirms is that Dedede looks stinkin' hilarious!

If he can fly, I'm all for it, if he can't, then I won't be heartbroken. When I first saw the pic, I thought that it might be his F-air or even his dash-attack, but I suppose it could be flight, too! Oh, the speculation!!!

Overall, this was a most welcome update and I'm absolutely stoked about tackling a bunch of new events! However, we're now faced with a tough decision: when we first get the game, do we hop right into the SubSpace Emissary, or do we begin with Event Matches?!

I'm running right thru Classic Mode and getting a secret character.

I dseriously don't think King Dedede is flying. It's only 2 seconds into the match anyway. Wait a second.....

They all look great except the Yoshi one seems kind of stupid.
For Trouble Kings, Kirby should be added. It makes sense, it also refers to SSE.
