I am definitely not much of a stage designer or artist so that is why I need some help. What in your opinion would be a cool design for a sonic stage...the possibilties are endless. Please share your ideas.

Most people tend to think something along the lines of a Green Hill Zone remake. This could include old enemies, obstacle, the springs and whatever else the creative team at Smash Inc. can come up with.

Also, if you look at the Video With Sonic and Mario in it, they are in a stage that resembles Green Hill zone!

More like a stage that resembles a forest. That could easily be another stage or part of the Subspace Emissary. Still, there's not a doubt in my mind that if Sonic gets a stage, this will be it.

i thlnk the control center on the ark from sonic adventure battle 2 would be a perfect stage, but if you want to go do a classic stage then the green hills is the way to go

If Live and Learn is to appear on a stage, then they pretty much have no choice but to use Space Colony ARK.

How about making the Egg Carrier a stage, about the size of Temple or New Pork City?

Hmm...

a) Obviously, a Green Hill stage is possible.

b) City Escape. Could happen.

c) ARK; several ideas here; you could fight on low-grav platforms outside the colony, or it could be a moving platform that flies through space and perhaps even into the colony itself for battles inside the ARK. That's my #1 idea, though.

d) Radical Highway? ^^;

I'm thinking its going to be something retro, just because of how Sakurai is.
Green Hill one is the most likely candidate.
I like the idea of Chemical Plant Zone, from the second game. It was a pain in the butt, but an interesting zone at the time, nonetheless.

I like the idea of the ARK, but I think a retro stage would work well too.

The area where you fight Robotnik/Eggman at the end of the first chapter in the third game (the platform at the waterfall) would make a good level with very little modification.

Moving levels seem to be the thing now, so really there are a ton of options. I mean you could even start out at above, be forced to the right and fall down, playing at some part in the underwater zone, then be forced to the right and then a waterfall shoots up underneith you sending you to the grassy area, and then be forced on into the casino, etc.

I'd probably like to see something from Sonic 3 and Knuckles, sure Sonic 2 is my favorite Sonic game, but I think Sonic 3 and Knuckles had some awesome levels, heck maybe even Sonic CD... I would love a Stardust Speedway level (the alt. music could be the US/Japanese music depending on where you bought the game.)

Or perhaps Angel Island Zone? I mean they have stage changes so you could have it where you are fighting then a bunch of fire engulfs the stage and the stage would be on fire. With Sonic there are so many possibilities...

I really like the ARK idea, the could play with the gravity or fighting over a platform outside the ARK, but the Green Hill zone it's ok too, considering that this sonic is more like the retro one xP

I think that Green Hill Zone is the best bet to capture the retro feel and it would probably turn out like the remake they did in sonic adventure 2... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ycymywGv7c .
If they have a second level from the sonic series it would probably be something from the sonic adventure series to represent the dreamcast days. i personally would love to see pumpkin hill w/ music and knuckles included but that might be asking too much. lol

I'm sticking to the Green Hill Zone idea because it is a perfect addition to the brawl stages. And it's a classic sonic stage that everyone loves:)

Sadly i have a feeling since we are in the next generation the stage will be next gen as well. Soleanna maybe what we will get for sonic, the A.R.K stage is what I've always been one of my top hopes however thats not a sonic stage, that's Shadow the Hedgehog Stage! The stage must be fixed for the character, sonic should be long stages like Big blue from Melee and not the A.R.K. If Shadow appeared then the A.R.K will definitely be in the game, no second questions! Sonic will be either long, or a classic stage from the retro games e.g. either Green Hill Zone, Soleanna or Green Forest Zone (SA2B where sonic first battled Shadow)

The chances are the biggest that we'll be getting a next gen stage. First of all, the 3D Sonic games' stages are easier to port into Brawl, and second, the new Sonic stages have more potential for Brawl. Why? Because they have so dang many death pits.

a sonic stage like Green Hill Zone could be easily made in Stage builder, but it will be most likely turned into an actual stage.

I would love the see the ARK as a stage, but if that's not going to happen, then City Escape or Metal Harbor would be just fine too.

I am hoping there's a stage about something from SA2B, the ARK or the Green Forest. And I'm pretty sure that in SSE, there will be stages about Death Egg.

No A.R.K. unless Shadow is playable, the A.R.K is Shadow the Hedgehog's trade mark stage from SA2B and Shadow the hedgehog game. Not sonic's stage! But green Forest is likely due to they can use the fight arena for where sonic and Shadow first battled it out.

If Shadow is in then the ARK would be OK. However since he probably isn't in It should be Green Hill Zone or City Escape to go with the SA2B theme that they seem to have with Live and Learn.

If the past two SSB games are any indication, Brawl will also have a retro stage. I think it'll be based on SMB3. However, I digress.

Sonic's stage also needs to be retro -3D stage using original graphics. What better stage than one based on Green Hill Zone.

PS: The Sonic series "My Music" selection needs to include the original rendering of the Green Hill Zone theme.

sakurai really wants retro things, which is why i think green hill is an easy choice. sa2b is a great game but knowing sakurai, i'd say no.

Very good idea on the Green Forest stage, btw.
No worries but that is one of the few fight arenas in SA2B that are NOT on the A.R.K like the fight against Big Foot just after city escape, The fight between Eggman and Tails on Prison Island and also inside the pyramid against the Golem or King Boomboo.

im quite the opposite really, i've cleared the modern sonic games but not the classic games except Sonic 3.

Thanks also call me D.C. for short *back to topic* It would because you could fight with the Golem in the background, avoid his attacks and also maybe fight on the below stage where the quick sand is. That way it can be full of hazards and also fun
