    I also watch other shows, listen to news podcasts, and speak to actual citizens. Probably more often than I watch anime - just not for such long periods of times.

    Also conflicting cultural ideals are a very large factor for wars and other misunderstandings and changes.

    I recommend reading a book titled "Things Fall Apart"

    My Japanese friends like me because we share a common goal. Studying each others culture, and helping each other learn the others language. =P

    That and we have some pretty interesting chats.... about the most random things.

    Also note that I'm actually very pissed at you. I'm trying to be as civil/joking as possible about the issue. But for someone who has loved Japanese culture since I was 4 years old,　私は日本語を学んでいる、and plans to move there.
