CEO 2015 Will Not Have Customs Legal & 2 Stock 5 Minutes

The matchups and mechanics in Melee are well understood because the game is 13 years old. If Smash 4 was nearing it's 14th year of competitive play, even with customs on, it would probably be a similar situation. If you have a new game with new stuff, it's going to take some time to learn how to...

Enough Is Enough. Coaching Needs To Stop.

I think it's really cool how customer moves, a feature that everyone was looking forward thatwould have deepened the game, gets banned out for time concerns but five minute coaching sessions between four minute games get to be okay. Smash streams are starting to look like LoL streams between...

    Stage Analysis & Discussion Thread

My problem with Mute City's layout is that it seems to stay spread out more often than not, making it difficult to cross the platforms without going to the cars. Since the cars also move, the track damages (and kills most of the cast in the 90-100% range), and there aren't any ledges to help you...

    Stage Analysis & Discussion Thread

I'm really torn on Brinstar myself. The acid doesn't sway the match heavily since it's not terribly strong, and it's not unfair since it's very predictable. That said, it does seem to become the focus of the match. I died to falling through the center a couple of times, but that was my fault...

    Stage Analysis & Discussion Thread

I'm not that salty about Japes being legal since the stage ended up helping me out a bit and my losses tend to be earned anyway. Plus that was the point of the tournament, and I went in knowing that. It's just a stage that I don't think lends itself to competitive play. I killed a Dark Pit at...

    Stage Analysis & Discussion Thread

I played in the tournament earlier ( I was Nucleotyde there), and I might post some more thoughts tomorrow when I'm not as sleepy, but there are still a couple of things I still want to mention while they're fresh. First, I really like Tomodachi Life. The layout is strange, and it's a bit...

My thoughts on these tier list

Okay, I see what you're saying. I don't really think it's that big of an issue though. As long as there are some people willing to explore the lesser played characters, and there always are, especially in this game, then the tiers will move around. Top characters are likely to stay top because...

    Stage Analysis & Discussion Thread

Not really an argument over the stage, but still interesting, is that the momentum is so great that tethering the edge and pulling yourself up too quick will rip you off the stage and kill you. Granted, the only character I can do it consistently with is ZSS. Not sure Link and Samus can even do it.

    Stage Analysis & Discussion Thread

It's more that you get kills sun 50‰ with just whatever against anybody rather than like a good spike/gimp or against a character like Melee Falco or Mac. Like you can kill people with relatively weak moves early just because it puts a foot in the water. In those other situations, you habe to...

    Stage Analysis & Discussion Thread

I get your point, but the floor is simply too high. If we were talking about Yoshi's Story, sure, it would be fine. But on Jungle Japes you can get kills at like sub 50 percents just because the water throws you so hard. If you want to kill off the top on Halberd, you still have to rack damage...

    Stage Analysis & Discussion Thread

I feel like the water is still a bit extreme though. The thing that makes gimps entertaining and fun to do is that it takes skill to keep your opponent from coming back. On Jungle Japes you basically just knock them off and they're screwed because that stage kills you about the second you hit...

Is there any Possibility of Project M for Sm4sh?

Yeah, if it gets figured out more. I'm not sure what the current status of Wii U hacking is, but a big part of what makes Brawl hacking so popular is how easy and convenient stacksmash is. I've played hacks for four years and haven't even installed Homebrew. I think it'll take a certain amoubt...

Is there any Possibility of Project M for Sm4sh?

I could see it happening in the future if the Wii U becomes more hackable. I don't think the current Project M team will necessarily be involved or anything, but I think it's something someone will try to do eventually.

Smash 3DS Does the 3DS version seem unfinished to you?

Lack of item frequency is probably just a hardware thing. Turn items on high and it'd chug like a freight train. Not to mention it's probably fairly simple to code and probably isn't something that would need to be cut for time.

Smash 3DS Does the 3DS version seem unfinished to you?

Modes don't equate to quality though, and Brawl is well known for being rushed. That's why a huge swath of SSE was cut, why Sonic is basically tacked on (no remixes, barely more than a cameo in the story), and why that game is so atrociously balanced. They spent all their time on SSE, a mode...
