    You can do it on someone you've never played with before. I dislike calling it meta as you can base it off their previous posts in that same game. It's about reading if they believe their read. There are some players that naturally mask it which makes them hard to read: see players like Nabe, Sokr (I'll not say more, need to protect my godlike status!).

    End of the day most people don't really know what meta is, like on other mafia sites they misuse wifom all the time.

    You're shooting for town earlier so that you still have mafia to scumhunt for. It also makes town weaker and easier to defend against. You don't necessarily have to do it this way.

    And hell no not Town Vig. If you're planning on claiming Town Vig, you gotta plan that stuff and make it look like you're a vig from the start. Which means stuff like shooting inactives as you priority, which is normally a bad thing for indies. You can claim mostly anything as long as you make it look good. Vanilla is always a safe claim, but beyond that choosing an Informative role, like Watcher, is good but you have to fabricate the results on multiple night actions. Which isn't too hard. Other than that you can try something clever or if the game has a special game mechanic, you can fake a role that interacts with that game mechanic and those are always believable.

    Play like a townie. Scumhunt for real. Plan your night actions. Shoot for town early game, shoot for mafia later game. Have multiple safeclaims thought out.

    Personally I think it helps to make a friend in the game. Be on at least someone's good side.

    Don't always shoot who is scummiest - if there's two scummy players - but one will be an awkward or highly contested lynch, shoot the latter.

    There is no right or wrong way to play roles as it is ALWAYS dependant on the game.
