Umm, yeah. That's a weakness of that character. If you wanted to balance the game then you should make weaknesses of characters noticeable, as well as their strengths. Because if a character is "a jack of all trades" that character can't be balanced, as they are either good at everything...

I think you may be right, as I just noticed that I got into the habit of run-up shielding predictably. I will try to do that less from now on.
