    How much does the 3DS version matter competitively?

    I'm sure that both the 3DS and Wii U Smash games will both coexist side by side plus there will be some people who prefer one version over the other but that's fine as long as the community as a whole prospers.

    Of course I'll still play the 3DS version after the Wii U version comes out I prefer the 3DS over the Wii U tbh.

    I'll probably stick to playing Smash on my OG 3DS plus it's held up pretty well for the past two years i had it.

    As a somewhat casual/competitive player I don't mind playing casual matches with friends but i also don't mind playing competitive matches when i can besides casuals aren't that bad they just prefer to play smash differently then how competitive players.

    I'm more interested in the 3DS version due to most of my friends having the 3DS as well plus having a portable Smash game has been something i've always wanted so i'm glad it's happening.

    I see what you mean by the 3DS Smash being made for casual play and all but as a 3DS owner i can see myself playing Smash on it competitively online or with friends regardless if the 3ds gets a competitive scene or not.

    My OG 3DS for me since it's only one i have and it hasn't let me down in the two years i've had it.
