The banners probably don't mean anything honestly. It was said already that we've had this information for a week now. In my opinion it makes sense to take those down.

I really want the surprise to be character announcements just like you, but I'm going to hold off on that belief until Sakurai says something or I'm watching that trailer with my eyes. I definitely don't want to set myself up for disappointment.

I do like how we finally see a Star Fox stage, but I kind of wish we can also see a Star Fox stage that is more than fighting on a ship. I'm sure I'm going to love this stage too, but it would be cool for the series' stages to have a little bit more variety. Maybe an unlockable stage....

Seeing Rosalina makes me believe that there are some characters we're not going to expect. I like to think that there will be unlockable newcomers that Sakurai won't post trailers of. That, or we get sorely disappointed that the leak took the surprise factor away from us.

Last night I had my first dream about character's being confirmed for Smash 4. Most of it were ridiculous characters like Waluigi on skis. The last character announced was Ridley. I'm basing my speculation purely on that. Can't wait for Ridley.
