  • You bet, I've been waiting for this break forever :bee:
Tomorrow: doing hw (wtf, I know), then hanging out with girlfriend
Sunday: going to Atomsk's cause a friend of ours is lifeguarding at his community pool so it's a good excuse for us to get together and spend the day doing whatever
Monday: not certain, but probably working with friends on a math project, and by that I mean most likely getting distracted and eating some apple pie (my friend has secret ingredients for it, not like drugs, but actual secret ingredients, it's amazing)
Tuesday: hanging out with other people who I haven't had time to see for a while

    And then my school week:
Wednesday: idk, just walking around and looking fly since school is boring
Thursday: AP plays, so I get to waste my afternoon, and my morning is a waste anyways
Friday: half day cause of senior prom, so I might not even show up

Good stuff right there :p How about you, anything interesting going on?
;D Glad to hear it, lol. Honestly, standardized tests are really stupid and inaccurate, but whatever :p
Yeah I thought it was a joke, but I'm a little bit slow when it comes to the internet >_> 3 hours a day sounds like a lot... but I agree, taking care of everything early on will save you a lot of stress. Then when everyone else is freaking out you can just point and laugh
You still have plenty of time, don't forget. The most important thing in my opinion is to find out which test works better for you. After that, you know what to focus on, so you can just make a schedule for the rest of your school years.
That's what all the asians over here think too, but why waste time working when you can just go about things intelligently and efficiently to save the hassle, y'know?

Well, my SAT wasn't bad at all, 2070. 760 math (:( screw the SAT and its crap), 690 reading, and 620 writing (7 on the essay cause my handwriting is horrible). My ACT was close to total **** at a 35. 36 math 36 science 35 writing (:( so close yet so far...) 32 reading 8/12 on the essay.

Sadly, because of how my parents raised me, my SAT score made me depressed and I concluded that my ACT score was decent >_> I need a reality check lol
Hey, keep in mind you're talking to someone who lives in NJ and still doesn't bother to learn the MK matchup :p

... maybe... lol. By the time you reach junior year, you'll have a good idea (hopefully) of what kind of a college you want to attend, and then you'll know if you need to study more so your test score pulls you through.

Y'know, I have an idea. A lot of people put stupid stress on the SAT and ignore the ACT. Take a practice ACT somewhere if you can asap, or just a self test, and find out what you score on that. A 26 on ACTs is about the same as an 1800 on SATs, and if you do better on the practice ACT you won't have to bother with retaking the PSATs because it's not your type of test.

Also, make sure your parents understand that both tests are equal if you do better on the ACT, or else that can lead to a lot of stupid stress. Basically, be well informed about your options and make sure your parents are also well informed, and you'll do fine :)
Lol, if you say so then.

Maining sonic is a great indicator of intelligence, don't be so modest. I tried to learn sonic, but was too slow :(

If you're getting 9x and 8x percentiles, you should definitely have a higher score... What were your subscores? Either way, you'll learn what you really have to work on by taking and reviewing practice tests, so don't worry about that for now.

Philosophical discussions always end in a mess for me, everyone disagrees with me but rarely ever provides adequate reasoning so I gave up lol
Honestly, you seem like an intelligent person (it's not the 3 APs, it's you maining sonic :)). Don't worry about it much. Don't waste your time on a course, trust me, unless you took both tests once and failed horribly with prep, don't do it. Reading/writing...

SAT: it's all BS logic lol. Eliminate extreme answers, such as ones with 'always' or 'never'. Make sure that it's not something inferred from the text, and that you can back it up with what you read. For the grammar part, I usually sound it out. The essay, you can just write whatever (make up stories, it works well), but being legible really helps, the graders don't like crappy handwriting lol. The truth about the SAT is, if you don't get it right away it's probably just about drilling crappy logic skills into your head ._.

ACT: idk, but the official practice book I got off their site was helpful. The writing is just reading (lolwut) 5 stories and mostly simple grammar questions, like they underline parts of the text and you have to pick the correct form of 'its' and whatnot. The reading is a bit more clear-cut than the SAT (as in less bull), four different kinds of readings and questions that are more about synthesis, I think. Essay is required for the ACT if you want to submit it alone to get into college, and it's more personal than the SAT essay (as in, once again, less bull). The ACT is more like tests you're used to in school, and better for ADD kids. Plus, it's shorter :bee:

Don't bother preparing so soon, I took a summer course (parents made me, it sucked and started way too early) and then took the january SAT (prepped for 2 weeks before, about), did mediocre. Spent one week preparing for the ACT two weeks later, did amazing. And I only took one AP sophomore year :p

But really, you don't want to spend all your time on this stuff and then realize at the end of junior year that it's the reason you no longer have friends. From what I've seen, the more relaxed people go about it the better they do (generally). You'll know when you should start worrying about them, lol.

    :059:

And since you missed it, :093:

EDIT: Why do I always have gigantic posts.
    The times are changing, lol.
Btw, ACT > SAT in terms of work required, so if you get lazy go with ACT >_>

    :059:
    Lol, if only.
But yeah, no problem. And another word of advice for your **** standardized tests, make sure you schedule them early on when nothing is going on, and take both SAT and ACT before retaking one or the other to avoid potentially wasting time and money.
Enjoy the rest of freshman year, you'll miss it :p

    :059:
Well, I had experience too, but it still sucked =/
Like, it's not just the whole "omfgschoolisallupinmyface" thing, everyone starts going through massive changes (lol I know this probably sounds ********, but my cousin warned me of this and it happened, almost exactly as he said it, so... yeah).
You can lose touch with even the best of friends, emotional issues all over the place, some people just break out of the 'good kid' mode and go crazy, some isolate themselves, some start to hate everyone they used to know, drama, etc. Just don't let whatever **** happens catch you too offguard lol.

Then again, if you are friends with people who actually know who they are (or at least for the most part) and can handle things without making it the biggest deal ever because they're desperate for attention, things might be a lot better >_>

    :059:
Lol, I was actually visiting to confirm that you'd be a sophomore next year, but idk how that was supposed to work. I think that I'm starting to lose it more and more as we get closer to summer.

And be warned, junior year is a *****.

    :059:
I am asking everyone who voted on the Metaknight Ban thread their opinion again, since over the course of time, many people brought up many more points, possibly changing the way that those that already voted think (most recently the results at Apex). I'm going to list the results of people's new thoughts in another thread (although I'll have to do it much later), and I'd love it if you could message me with your standing. Do you think Metaknight deserves:
    Banishment,
    Freedom,
    Temporary Banishment,
    A Rule Change,
or are you unsure at the momment?
Private messages so I can count the responces and tally properly would be greatly appreciated, but anyway of messaging will do fine.
I had a great idea a while ago, and I meant to tell you.

So, Sonic mains should TOTALLY MM eachother for A1 steak sauce. I mean, it's practical, you can bring it with you to tournies easier than cooked steak, and it's f***ing steak sauce. You gotta admit, that would be epic. (I swear I'm sane, really)

    :059:
Oh, I thought you knew him...
These dudes were harassing his friends who were girls and then they saw him near his house and had a pistol and shot him 3 times.
Yo aeg, do you mind bringing me up in the Proving Grounds Discussion in the Debate Hall?

You don't have to say anything regarding your feelings towards my debating per se, just say like "What do you guys think of SOLID?" or something.

If you don't mind of course, I just want to see what people there think of me.
Lol yeah, with so few people in Melee tournaments, my Doc usually *****.
OMG MARTH. I hate Marth, he's 20% Fsmash, 20% Fair, 20% Dtilt, 25% Utilt and 15% Dancing blade. Does Marth have any other moves...?

Lol yeah, that's why I hate religious debates.
I said Smash because I don't just play Brawl, I main Doc in Melee and do much better at Melee tournies than Bawrls.

Lol Debate Hall. I rarely post there, I just don't have the time to post massive replies to people whose opinions can't be swayed.
    Oh, you sly dog. ;)
I'm on this site because... I really don't know, I just love Smashhhhh.
Haven't went to anything since March.
I have like, no ride. YOU GO TO TOURNIES.
Nobody goes to tournies, either! :(
I'm one of the only Florida Marios besides Monk.

Bleh, that sucks. Nobody does wi-fi any more.
As much as I hate it, I still play for giggles. Ah well.
    I guess that makes sense...
Although, it looks like Virg is gonna close it soon if you guys don't lighten up. xD

Hey, do you do wi-fi? I'm pretty bored and I've never fought an actual Sonic that doesn't dash attack the entire match.
I lol'd at the thread. Exactly what IS the purpose of it? It's just a back and forth flamewar of "ur wrong." and "no u."
Hey man, if you could give me some tips on Debating, that'd be great, I'd love to make it in.

I read what you posted in my group, I was just wondering if you could give me some more general pointers.

Also, I can't really think of a topic to post there, but I want to make one, and if you think of an interesting, tell me!

Thanks in advance, you're a big help.
