Need to take this out somewhere, in regards to the controversy about that character in the new Silent Hill 2 Remake.
I've seen people claiming that "she looks ugly" or "doesn't look like she has gone through trauma like the original".
Based on personal experience, I can say with a lot of confidence that physical looks doesn't equal to the amount of mental weight and anxiety one may have hidden within them. At most one can look tired (the way their eyes look, the expressions they put on and so on) but there are people who cope with trauma in different ways. I personally cope with anxiety attacks and intrusive thoughts by either buying new merch or stuff for my games or eating heavily (both things I am currently working on). My cousins instead cope with their anxieties and fears through training and sports.
To put It all in a simple way: I don't believe looks are the most important thing to show that a character has gone through trauma, and I feel we should wait and see for the full game before judging from out of context clips how Bloober Team has worked with the character (Who I am aware have a yikeys backstory regarding mental health stories, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt).
