With the latest Multiversus discourse coupled with previous discourse over NASB and going back to Smash it's become painfully aware that people take who gets to be a playable fighter in a roster WAY too seriously and personally.

While there is a lot of fanmade Waluigi lore out there based on gag animations or BTS interviews, and you do tend to see those reflected in Waluigi Smash movesets (the "rose-bearing romantic" and "self-pitying loser" characterisations being what's coming to mind for me), the basic conceit of the average Waluigi moveset - "petty trickster cartoon villain" - is plainly canon. If you can imagine a Multiversus moveset for Wile E. Coyote, you can also imagine a 100% character-faithful Smash moveset for Waluigi
