  • Okay, this might seem ridiculous to think about, but I came up with an idea for what a DreamWorks fighting game would look like. Albeit, I went a bit overboard.

    [Shrek Series]
    1. Shrek - THE MAN HIMSELF
    2. Donkey - The quintessential sidekick, he has to be here.
    3. Fiona (AU) - I think she's a cool pick to have. Her princess form isn't as interesting in terms of moveset, to me.
    4. **** in Boots - A fast-paced swordfighter? Epic character to have here.
    5. Gingerbread Man - I think his Ultimate should be his giant form from the end of Shrek 2. Also, candy attacks!
    6. Prince Charming - I picture him as a sort of "knight in shining armour" of sorts.
    7. Fairy Godmother - Mage archetype! Also I think she should have good recovery power.
    8. Rumplestiltskin - So, I was kinda thinking, what if he has a stance-change style based on what wig he's wearing, like Mr. Hat from Shovel Knight Showdown? Seems neat

    [Madagascar Series]
    9. Alex - The protagonist, he has to be here.
    10. Marty - A fast-paced rushdown fighter!
    11. Gloria - I think she should be a heavyweight brawler. Maybe not a grappler though.
    12. Melman - A really awkward fighter with lanky and bizarre, but effective, hitboxes!
    13. The Penguins - Yes, all four of them. I can picture them being incredibly fun to play both as and against.
    14. Makunga - A heavyweight Alex clone? I think he's a needed villain here.
    15. Chantel DuBois - The idea of her dash being her leaping onto her Vespa is fun to me.
    16. Charming Villain - The real grappler - but he also uses tech and the like. I think a Penguins antagonist is a fun one to see.

    [Kung Fu Panda Series]
    17. Po - Again, he's the protagonist.
    18. Tigress - I think she's a good side character to integrate mostly due to her unique fighting style compared to, say, Po.
    19. Master Shifu - Small, but powerful. I think he'd be really neat to see.
    20. Master Oogway - Oogway could wind up being like the Oro of this game and I'm all for it.
    21. Tai Lung - The first villain, yes, but I think he'd work as a sort of semi-clone of Tigress, with more overall power, but as a glass cannon - think like the Akuma to her Ryu.
    22. Shen - Tons of zoning tools as well as holding his own up close, I think he'd be neat.
    23. Kai - Long-range attacks with his chain swords seems cool!

    [Rise of the Guardians]
    24. Jack Frost - I think he'd be a cool rushdown fighter with mid-range tools.
    25. Sandman - A wacky lightweight character with big, bizarre hitboxes, he's a perfect pick. I actually picked him over North mostly because of his moveset potential and rivalry with Pitch.
    26. E. Aster Bunnymund - The idea of him being here is genius. Using eggs, his boomerang, and a kick-heavy hit-and-run style, would work really well for him.
    27. Pitch Black - Think similar to Sandman, but with more powerful tools, and a heavyweight.

    [Megamind]
    28. Megamind - A tech-heavy character mostly using his own gadgets, I think Megamind is a really fun pick to see here.
    29. Minion - I picture him playing somewhat similarly to Megamind but he's heavier and easier to pick up.
    30. Metro Man - Superman lol
    31. Titan - Incredibly strong clone of Metro Man, but with very little health or defence.

    [Trolls Series]
    32. Poppy - I think her hair abilities could be quite fun, as well as a music-based playstyle!
    33. Branch - And, in opposition, Branch relies more on a survivalist playstyle.
    34. Queen Barb - Guitar fighter? LORD RAPTOR THE SECOND??

    [Monsters VS Aliens]
    35. B.O.B - Yes, I cut the main character because she's too big, but I think B.O.B could be really fun due to his physiology.
    36. Missing Link - He's a weird, but fun pick, as a basic, unga-bunga rushdown fighter.
    37. Gallaxhar - Megamind but an alien? That seems reasonable. I think he's a cool pick, and as much as I wanted to add Hathaway here, Gallaxhar kinda has to be.

[How to Train Your Dragon Series]
    38. Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III - He's the protagonist, and with a flaming sword and a wingsuit, I picture him as a rapid "in and out" kind of rushdown pick.
    39. Toothless - Yes, as a separate character. He has enough abilities and the like to really differentiate him.
    40. Grimmel the Grisly - And the antagonist of the third movie - I think he'd be cool to see here given his assassin-like nature.

    [Over the Hedge]
    41. RJ - He's the main character, but I think he'd get his friends to assist him too.
    42. The Verminator (Dwayne LaFontant) - He may not be the main villain... but he's the one you all remember. Tons of zoning and trapping tools here!

    [The Croods Series]
    43. Grug - Heavyweight, but I think he'd be fun because of his various caveman tools like a club, a boulder, and the like. I picked him over Eep because he's got more potential, plus I think he's more memorable as a whole.
    44. Guy - Using his "ideas," he'd be a neat counter to Grug, despite being physically weaker. Maybe he could be a zoner?

[Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas]
    45. Sinbad - Being a pirate, I think he has potential. He's fairly basic, but I think that would work well.
    46. Eris - She's, well, a goddess! I think it's a weird pick, yes, but as an addition to the antagonists of the game, she's cool to see.

    [Antz]
    47. Z-4195 (Z) - Main character. Being an ant, he does have some weird potential though.
    48. Mandible - I think that he could be a cool puppet fighter that sends out ants to attack for him.

[Wallace and Gromit - The Curse of the Were-Rabbit]
    49. Wallace & Gromit - They're almost guest fighters, but they make so much sense to see here. Inventions galore make them powerful zoner-trappers!
    50. Victor Quartermaine - A hunter of Were-Rabbits, I think he'd play well alongside Chantel DuBois for some reason.

    [Flushed Away]
    51. Roderick St. James - Main character, but also a weirder and interesting pick. He's light, but probably has to run away from problems.
    52. Le Frog - Another non-main antagonist pick, but Le Frog is much funnier to me, and has more potential with the whole France angle of his character.

    [Chicken Run]
    53. Ginger - Main character! She's a good escaper by being fast and the like, and probably uses various tools to get out of dangerous situations.
    54. Mrs. Tweedy - Fighting pretty much alone but also with her husband, I think it could be funny to see her fighting with an axe.

    [Captain Underpants]
    55. Captain Underpants/Mr. Krupp - A hella weird, but still fun, pick! I think his Captain Underpants role would be really fun to play as overall, but Mr. Krupp is wayyy better at punishing whiffs and the like.
    56. Professor Pippy Poopypants - ...main villain, also a tech user. Makes sense.

    [The Prince of Egypt]
    57. Moses - Something feels wrong about having a Biblical figure between Pippy Poopypants and Barry B. Benson, but I think Moses has a ton of potential in the game.

    [Bee Movie]
    58. Barry B. Benson - He likes jazz. Also I think he's a fun pick to see here! Being, well, a bee, I think he'd have interesting interactions with Z, as well as being a lightweight, combo-heavy character.

    [The Road to El Dorado]
    59. Tulio & Miguel - Yes, they're together. A pair of adventurers? I think they work really well here. I'm not exactly sure how they'd play, though...

    [Abominable]
    60. Yi & Everest - Ice powers, as well as the capacity for a rider/steed character, seems fun to me!

    [Turbo]
    61. Turbo - By far the fastest character in the game, but also one of the lightest. After all, he's a snail!

    [Boss Baby]
    62. Boss Baby - Look, he has to be here. Business-based moves, such as using a briefcase as a disjointed hitbox, seem like a good fit for him!

    [Mr. Peabody & Sherman]
    63. Mr. Peabody & Sherman - A weird, but fun, pick to see! Using various historical objects, inventions and even figures, they'd be a weird but fun pair to see here.

    [Shark Tale]
    64. Oscar - Yes, he's the only character here from Shark Tale, but he'd be fun to see with his scammer-like facade.

    [Home]
    65. Oh - The "weird alien" character. Having a weird skeleton as well as an overall unusual fighting style, I think Oh would be a good pick.

    [Spirit Series]
    66. Spirit - As weird as adding a literal horse to this game is, Spirit has had two movies now... so it makes sense to add him.

[She-Ra and the Princesses of Power]
    67. She-Ra - The main character. The thing is, I wanted to add He-Man, but he doesn't feature in the series... so I guess it's She-Ra's time to shine!
    68. Catra - A rushdown, wolf/cat-like character? Seems like a fun and weird archetype!
    69. Hordak - I think he'd be a cool villain character, but I'm not sure how exactly he'd play.

    [Voltron: Legendary Defender]
    70. Takashi “Shiro” Shirogane - The main character. I think he's a weird but cool pick to see here!
    71. Emperor Zarkon - As with Hordak, I'm not really sure how he'd play, but he's a good counter to Shiro.

    [Trollhunters]
    72. James Lake Jr. - Your traditional heroic swordfighter, JLJr. is a cool pick to see here. I picture him as playing similarly to Marth?
    73. Gunmar - On the other hand, Gunmar is a massive heavyweight bruiser/grappler, because that fits well.

[Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts]
    74. Kipo Oak - She's the main character, and can partially turn into a jaguar! She's by far one of the most reasonable picks here. I'm not sure another character here is really needed, but her own impressive abilities make her unique.

    [Noddy]
    75. Noddy - I imagine Noddy is an easy-to-learn all-around character, befitting his origin from a children's series. He's easy to play.

    [Dinotrux]
    76. Ty Rux & Revvit - Likewise, Ty Rux is an easy-to-learn character, but he's a heavyweight who uses Revvit as a ranged attacker.

    [Cleopatra in Space]
    77. Cleopatra - I know next to nothing about this series, but I think she'd be fun to see here.

    [Where's Waldo?]
    78. Waldo - I think it would be funny if he can wear different disguises. Also, he'd be amazing at quickly getting in, landing hits, and getting back out - and he's able to attack with various pieces of equipment like compasses and maps.

    [DreamWorks]
    79. Moon Man - Yes, really. I picture him as a weird pick who floats around on his moon, moving quickly and using his fishing rod as a long-range attack. Whilst he's not from a specific DreamWorks production... he makes so much sense here.

So, the addition of Aardman as a whole brings up some cool picks. I originally considered adding Feathers McGraw in the Wrong Trousers over Quartermaine, but he's not really a first-party pick. Shoutouts also go to Pirate Captain and Shaun the Sheep!

Including the DreamWorks Classics catalogue, you get some interesting picks like Felix the Cat, Godzilla, the Lone Ranger, Doctor Solar, Casper the Friendly Ghost, Postman Pat, He-Man, Skeletor, and even Larry and Bob from VeggieTales. It was genuinely difficult for me not to add some of these picks, like, for real.

Also, if you add Universal Animation specifically, it brings in some really out-of-left-field picks, such as Marty McFly from the Back to the Future animated series, Earthworm Jim, Curious George, and even Van Helsing!

Bearing in mind that Illumination is also owned by Universal, characters like Gru, Vector, the Lorax, the Once-ler, Max, and even Mario, could be on the table here.

And, well... if you're talking Universal as a whole, we could be talking characters like the entire Universal Monsters catalogue, and picks as wacky and wide as Chucky, E.T., the Thing, Fred Flintstone, Mr. Bean and James Bond amongst others. As wacky as some of these picks are, I picture any of these as third party picks being like Robocop in MK11 - bizarre, but so, so good.

I spent a lot of time on this as a whole (maybe too much,) but I think it's okie!
Here's something I miss - casual crossovers. I was recently playing Sonic Riders and I actually kinda forgot that there were other SEGA characters that were just there, but they work pretty well! (Kinda shocked that Beat wasn't an obvious choice given his skating playstyle could have been similar to that of Shadow - not like his body type was too big either given Ulala was in it...) and something like how Fantasy Zone and Space Harrier just happen to be in the same universe.

Like, every crossover seems to need some massive lore-based explaination and universal consequences nowadays as opposed to something simple. It's kinda tiring these days.

That's why a part of me likes how most of the classic Namco arcade titles just happen to be in the same world so we don't need some apocalyptic story as to how Dig Dug can meet up with Pac-Man or something.
There's a small part of me that would be intrigued to see what a Sony fighting game would look like. Not just PlayStation, but Sony as a whole. The idea of characters like Nathan Drake and Miles Morales interacting with that deer (I think it was a deer?!) from Open Season and John Cena (but he's a surfing penguin) seems like it would be one of the stupidest and yet most unusual games of all. Roster shoutouts go to Dracula from Hotel Transylvania, Flint Lockwood from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and I guess Red from Angry Birds but specifically the movie just to annoy everyone.
A small part of me is interested in seeing like, a Metroid fighting game. Like, it takes place in a big map right, and each character has some special ability that helps with progression. Then you have to find and eliminate each other. Even so I feel like there'd be so many issues with this premise that it would wind up being, like, boring as hell. For characters though I think there's some cool potential.

For instance, if we were to ditch the whole canon of Metroid (okay this might sound bad already but hear me out,) we could have cool picks like some of the Hunters seen in, well, Hunters - oh, and Prime 3! Hell, even bosses like Dark Samus, Ridley, or a playable Zeta Metroid could be fun to see, as well as more recent choices like EMMI and [HE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED FOR SPOILER REASONS]! Even so, I get why something like this could end up being unpopular. What would your thoughts be?
    RANDOM QUESTION FOR Y'ALL.

What new Rotom forms would you want to see in terms of battle and the like? I feel like some new types of Rotom could be fun to see, and I'm sure y'all would come up with really cool ideas!

One idea I'd love to see is a Rotom with an Electric/Fighting typing. Essentially, it takes the form of a console, or more likely, an arcade cabinet! Based on fighting games as a whole, its special "plasma" thingies take the form of large glowing fists.
This might be a hot take, but I would kill to see a modernised design of Sukapon as a DLC character in ARMS, or ARMS2 if that's happening. As stupid as this sounds (Sukapon doesn't have arms, I hear you holler,) hear me out.

    1. Even people who don't know of Joy Mech Fight can appreciate the inclusion of a brand new character, especially one as wacky as Sukapon.
    2. Fans of Joy Mech Fight (such as myself!!) would be overjoyed to see our happy lil fella come back into the limelight.
    3. Sukapon could actually have a really unique playstyle - not having ARMS, he has a high amount of control over his punches, but slightly less speed to counter this.
    4. His stage could also be pretty unique too! I imagine it could take place in the carnival stage, but I would also suggest the Moon as an alternate locale.

Oh, he wouldn't have any ARMS to use? Allow me to counter that.

    Sukapon ARMS:
    Type: Glove
    Attribute: Stun
    Weight: I

    Honou ARMS:
    Type: Multi-Shot
    Attribute: Fire
    Weight: III

    Sasuke ARMS:
    Type: Whip
    Attribute: Wind
    Weight: II

Each of these are based on various playable characters in the original game - and given there's no less than 8, as well as tons more robots that aren't playable, then there's no shortage!

Idk, this is just a fun idea I just had... I just wanna see my smol pink fella back in the limelight again...
I feel like there's a surprising amount of potential in rebooting forgotten IPs in different formats. Here's an idea I just came up with:

    A Rent-A-Hero Netflix series.

I mean, it sort of writes itself. Rent-A-Hero was originally a Genesis game, but then there was a cancelled remake on Xbox too. However, aside from like one appearance in Fighters Megamix, he just like never turned up again.

In terms of tone, Rent-A-Hero has this really campy, self-aware sort of thing going on, and there's a small part of me that wants to see it as a bizarre cross between Kick-Ass, Better Call Saul and general SEGA stuff. Like, it seems like it could be a really cool thing - especially with a sort of Retrowave aesthetic to the soundtrack. (Also, a brawl taking place in some neon arcade with some thumping synths sounds like a really cool setpiece.)

I mean this is only one thing that I just came up with now and it would probably butcher the source material, but I mean... there's potential there.
    Tankman from Newgrounds
    Tankman from Newgrounds
    Or even Nintendo Crossovers:
    Mario X Star Fox
Legend of Zelda X Fire Emblem
    Kirby X Metroid
    F-Zero X Mach Rider
    Golden Sun X Advance Wars
    Splatoon X Pikmin
    Astral Chain X Xenoblade
    ARMS X Punch-Out
    Chibi-Robo X Custom Robo
Ring Fit Adventure X Wii Fit
    Kid Icarus X Dragalia Lost

    And Crossovers with same franchises:
    Super Mario X Ice Climbers
    F-Zero X Star Fox
    Mach Rider X Excite
    Splatoon X ARMS
    Kirby X Pokemon
    Murasame Castle X Fire Emblem
    Torgo the Bear
    Torgo the Bear
I remember seeing a concept a long time ago for Ristar to make an appearance in Sonic X
I personally always associated Ristar with Sonic somewhat because of Sonic Mega Collection, so I thought that idea sounded pretty fun...
Nowadays...I'd still love it if some Sonic game or show had him cameo or even play a major role for an episode or so.

Also please bring back my boy Ecco
    Tankman from Newgrounds
    Tankman from Newgrounds
I mean, he will Comeback on PS5 Game about Ecco.
Screw Microsoft X SEGa partnership, we only want Sony X SEGA partnership.

if they dont add big the ****ing cat to the next smash bros, i am going to burn down the entire country of japan with a single match and then realise my grevious mistake of posting it onto smashboards several years later that ultimately leads to my eventual arrest and execution
One thing I think would be really cool to see in future SMT/Persona titles is the introduction of urban legends, or even certain creepypastas, but with an SMT coat of paint - especially after contemporary literature was sampled for use in Persona 5. A small part of me is intrigued to see how something like Polybius would translate to the whole system, and for the sake of ****posts, Sonic.exe.
I wonder what a fighting game roster would look like if it were completely made up of British television characters? I imagine characters like Mr. Bean, one of the Doctors (my money would actually be on David Tennant) and Ant and Dec would be lock-ins for a roster like this, but who would you want to see?
A part of me is actually wondering how a Persona 5 Arena would even pan out. There are, after all, certain aspects that should be considered.

    1.
The issue of one Goro Akechi, or should I say two. The problem is, Akechi has his Prince and Black Mask forms with completely different Personas, being Robin Hood and Loki - and yet the issue is, the Arena games try to be canon, hence why he didn't get into P4A/P4AU. Akechi is literally dead, or at least implied to be... could they possibly like, cobble together an explaination that Akechi's Shadow Self is splintered somehow?

    2.
I suppose this is a point too. Characters like SOPHIA, Zenkichi and Kasumi seem like no-brainer choices, but then it begs the question of how, in the case of Strikers, does Koei own the rights to Zenkichi and SOPHIA? I suppose Kasumi could theoretically get in, but even then that raises questions of the "timeline" given the theory that Persona 5 Royal is in a seperate timeline to Persona 5 Strikers. (What the hell happened there?)

    3.
Okay, so how do we handle the Velvet Attendants? I mean, given that Lavenza is present in P5S, is it just going to be her, or is it Caroline and Justine... or both?

    4.
So, who would return from previous titles? I mean, it could be cool to see the P4 cast in a similar way to how the P3 cast were seen in P4A, but then one has to ask - would the P3 characters return as well? I feel at that point, you could even get away with adding some characters from even older titles - like Naoya from P1, or maybe Tatsuya and Maya from the P2 duology. I mean, the 25th anniversary proves Atlus does, like, remember Persona 1 and 2 exist.

Idk, it seems like there's a lot of interesting questions here. I guess a roster could be cool, and there's still a ton of questions regarding the whole situation with ArcSys, but that aside, P5A could be an interesting sight...
I don't know if this is just me being pessimistic, but I'm... worried about MultiVersus. It seems like a good idea, but there's a few things that are bugging me that I'll mention below.

    1. The "free-to-play" model.
As we know, we don't know what they mean by this... but I'm hoping it isn't as bad as I'm thinking. It's possible you could take it in a similar way to a game like Brawlhalla, but the problem is, I feel like lootboxes and microtransactions would wind up ruining the experience.

    2. It's too big.
The problem is, why pick Space Ghost when you could pick LeBron James? Multiversus taking up the entirety of WB gives it a lot of potential, but also has the potential to look like those Fortnite ****posts where someone puts low-quality JPEGs of Thanos, John Wick and Naruto onto Tilted Towers. Even so, though, this opens up a lot of very unusual picks in itself - my own personal favourite has to be Neo, from the Matrix.

    3. The "service" model.
Games like Marvel's Avengers have proven that this can go south. I feel like it's possible the game, at launch, will feel... empty - given that it only seems to, at current, have 15 characters for instance, I'm not sure it'll catch on right away. The problem is, if it doesn't catch on right away, they won't add more content, leading to a vicious cycle.

I hate to start with cynicism, but... this has potential to be great, and potential to fail. I just want to be realistic.

(Please though we need Neo in there especially in his classic design)
Random thought - what if copyright instantly died and someone made a platform fighter purely made up of Tumblr "sexymen?"

My own theory for characters include:

The Once-Ler (The Lorax): A Stance-Change fighter between his "Once-Ler" and "Greed-ler" form, the former uses his guitar as a weapon, whereas the latter uses a large axe.

Bill Cipher (Gravity Falls): The crazy-mage archetype with a ton of cool and bizarre attacks. Bonus points if he gets the ability to throw deer teeth as a projectile.

Sans (Undertale): Funny bone man haha

Spamton (Deltarune): Funny puppet man? The idea of using phone-based attacks seems fun, as well as [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS].

Wheatley (Portal): Literally uses various pieces of Aperture equipment as his moveset, including a Portal Gun, and may or may not have taken over the body of... idk maybe P-Body?

Alastor (Hazbin Hotel): The idea of various radio-themed attacks, as well as a very theatrical, 30s-esque performance being his fighting style sounds like something I could really get behind.

Nagito Komaeda (Danganrompa): The idea of his incredible "luck" being used to instantly make it physically impossible to hit him in combat is stupid enough to be funny.

Dr. Clef (SCP): Maybe he attacks with various SCPs? I mean, that seems like more of a Dr. Bright thing to do, but I'm kinda stumped here. How the hell is Clef considered a Sexyman but not Bright? (Maybe it could be due to Bright's constantly changing appearance?)

Almond Cookie (Cookie Run): Look, he's a detective, you could work with that. Have him attack with a gigantic magnifiying glass sword or something.

Loki (Marvel Comics): The funny trickster archetype. Maybe he could use the Tesseract as a means of dodging attacks?

ENA (ENA): I DON'T EVEN CARE I'M INCLUDING THEM AND THIS IS A HILL I WILL DIE ON

What ideas do you have for what I imagine would be an absolute hellhole of a game? :D
Adding Space Harrier in Smash would cause Funny memes to Appear in Smash Fandom:
    Space Harrier Memes be like:
    • Deep Fried Image of Space Harrier with Captions: "I'm gonna spam my Neutral B"
    • Oh look, Fox 2.0 is added into Smash
    • Aw heck nah, Space Harrier has too small and Lanky Hitbox
    • SPACE HARRIER IS BROKEN S++ Tier Character
    • Space Harrier has longer F-smash range than Sephiroth
    And More memes.
There's a small, slightly insane part of me that wants to see how someone could hypothetically go about representing LSD Dream Emulator in Smash.

Is this a random 3am thought? Yes. It absolutely is.
I hope we get more Namco arcade music in the next Smash game. Especially stuff from the Namco Museum games - this Xevious remix, this Dig Dug theme thingy and this Phozon theme were really cool, and I think that more chill stuff like that could work well in Smash.

Like, I feel like this is probably a hot take, but I think that chiller EDM remixes can work pretty well in Smash as battle themes. Aside from that - I also think that it would be cool to see jungle mixes (if Bomberman gets in and he doesn't have Redial as one of his music tracks, I'm going to literally explode)
I think one character people don't give much thought to, but is a genuinely plausible pick, is M. Bison from the Street Fighter series. He's a rare situation where, like, his moveset actually has a lot of potential, but at the same time, could be quite simple to think up. Here's my own concept for his Specials, at least:

Neutral B: Psycho Shot. Acting as a projectile, I think this one is pretty interesting. Though it's a little similar to how Hadouken works with its speed being able to be controlled by the input, I think that doing the input for it should have it work a little more like Psycho Cannon - moving slower, but with a bigger hitbox and a multi-hit property as well as big damage.

Side B: Psycho Crusher! Having Bison prepare himself before launching sideways, coating himself in Psycho Power, I think it would be a good move if it multihits opponents that it hits, as well as being able to be aimed slightly upward or downward when used on the ground (and being a good recovery tool in the air.) Inputting the correct command gives it a little more power and range.

Up B: I think this should be Bison Warp. Being a teleport, some might think of it as unoriginal, but I think the interesting difference here would be that, compared to say Mewtwo or Palutena, it has slightly shorter range - but significantly less end-lag, as well as being able to act after it (though it can only be used once in the air.) When on the ground, it works a little more like a counter of sorts - taking the form of Hell's Warp, using it "through" an opponent puts them in a stunned state, allowing you to punish them with low end-lag. However, it requires a read - long start-lag makes it unsafe on shield.

Down B: In this case, I'd like to suggest Devil Reverse. Acting a little like ZSS's Down B, this has Bison leap into the air, but if you don't make an input, it essentially turns into Head Press on the other side - which is a spike that can bury opponents on the ground. However, it's also possible to cancel it by tapping B again, which has Bison activate the Reverse - stopping his momentum forward and having him bring a fist down coated in Psycho Power, which actually also has a spike on the initial swing - as well as doing minor damage for a short time! This can also be used as a recovery move, as it doesn't leave you vulnerable after use - in fact, you could even use your double jump out of it!

Lastly, his two Final Smashes would be the Nightmare Booster when close-up, or the Final Psycho Crusher when at longer range from an opponent.
The idea of Excitebike Racer getting into Smash, but using the bike as a melee weapon similar to how Kiryu can use a motorbike in Yazuka or kinda like Dante's motorbike sword in DMC5, is so hiarious to me that I think it would work beautifully. Like, the idea of the dash being to just plop the bike on the ground and ride it, and then the dash attack being to flip over and slam the bike in front of them, is so ridiculous that I think it would work.

Also, having the god damn Excitebike Racer as a swordfighter would probably break Smashboards
    Hot Take #2732947742

I honestly think that Snake, from Snake (the Nokia one) would be a cool Assist Trophy. Here's how I imagine it:

Essentially when you summon it, it has two "blocks" and moves around, with other dots on the stage. If the snake touches them, it grows by one "block" as in the original game. Where it gets interesting is that the snake itself is an interactable platform - it works as a wall, it can be grabbed, and it can be walked on (and maybe dropped through?) The sheer level of recovery bull**** with this Assist Trophy would be hilarious - and maybe you could make the dots healing items similar to food?

Also, the idea of getting Nokia ringtones in Smash is just so ridiculously hilarious to me, and yet seems so damn funny that it could work. I mean, just look at this like, it's the funny
I feel like it would have been really cool if certain Spirits also came with music. The idea of a Plok! event coming with various Plok! music that gets added to the Other section after you beat the Plok! spirits is really cool to me.

Is this just me begging for Plok! music in Smash?

    ...yes.
DLC fighters that would piss everyone off

    1. "Skylanders." The gimmick is that you, as well as paying for the DLC, also have to buy physical Skylanders toys as well as the portal to scan them in, at which point you can play as them. Being KO'd means you have to wait 3 hours to play as them again. However, every single Skylander is in the game (except Crash and Spyro due to "licensing issues" so scanning them just gives you Gill Grunt)

    2. IKEA POÄNG chair. The chair moves around by bouncing around the stage on its "legs" and attacks with various different IKEA products. Also, downloading this DLC fighter will automatically change your system's default language to Swedish, and Sakurai hard-deconfirms PewDiePie as a playable character in the Direct.

    3. A Mario Kart but with no driver. That's it. It's just the ****ing kart but it attacks with items, with the Blue Shell being the Final Smash. Also, the only "attack" it has is its neutral B, Item Box, which will have you roll for a random item that you'll get.

    4. A banana from the Donkey Kong Country series, which acts as a DKC rep. It's actually the single most powerful character in the game, and yet somehow gets small buffs every single patch. It's able to walk around on the peels, as well as summoning an infinite number of banana-related items significantly faster than Diddy Kong, which results in the entire Diddy Kong fandom migrating to Banana.

    5. a minion from despicable me

What do you think of my incredible Fighters Pass concept?
Sometimes, people have very random and very bad ideas, and I just had one.

What if Buzz Buzz, from EarthBound, were playable? After all, every single move of his would just be PK Shield so I guess he'd be a glass cannon who dies instantly if hit, but every single attack of his is a counter/reflector!
This might seem like a random question, but - do any of you have an idea for a cool "theme" for a fighting game? Kinda like how Darkstalkers is mostly based on monsters and the like - I think it would be hella interesting to see your thoughts!
On the note of random PSASBR stuff (given it's a dead series so I guess I'm raising it from the dead haha funny halloween joke), something pretty funny actually just occurred to me.

Despite the fact that characters like Crash and Cloud were so heavily requested, one of the big requests has always been Spyro. Now, whilst Spyro didn't manage to make it in because of the amount of money Activision wanted at the time, a funny point to me is the fact that if Spyro did get in, people would have complained. A lot. In fact, Spyro is arguably the most likely of the three.

See, Spyro would in my opinion, with like 90% certainty, have been his Skylanders form - after all, Skylanders was huge at the time, so I can imagine Activision wanting to promote it - hence why I don't think personally think Crash would have been as likely as Spyro. Sure, it's not as bad as the Dante situation with his DMC appearance, but I think that people would have been... peeved with it.
This might seem like a really random point, but I'm actually really shocked at how rarely Alucard is discussed as a potential newcomer when people talk about a sequel PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Given the importance of Symphony of the Night as a PS1 title, and the sheer moveset potential, it seems like a really weird omission to me.

Then again... maybe it's because of people recognising Konami's current nature?
So, this might be a hot take, but... I would love to see a Shenmue series.

I don't think that the lengthy, interconnected story of Shenmue as a whole would be suited to a movie, but the idea of a series - following the journey of Ryo to avenge his father by defeating Lan Di over the course of multiple seasons, travelling along the way between different locations, genuinely seems like something that could be truly special.

And then I remember that it's a video game series so the translation would likely be absolutely terrible. :crying:
I feel like more anime should get the FighterZ treatment, and finally branch into 2D fighters as opposed to arena fighters.

I mean, looking at titles like My Hero One's Justice and Jump Force... it might just be me and my own personal preference for 2D titles, but I feel like they could have worked really well in that sort of style.

Probably doesn't help that arena fighters have such a stigma nowadays because so many of them were... meh-to-bad.
Given that Disney acquired FOX, I wonder if the next Kingdom Hearts will have Sora journey to the far off land of Quahog in order to defeat the Heartless alongside Peter Griffin.

Or maybe they'll throw a curveball and have him go to the world of Futurama instead.
Personally, I have pretty mixed feelings about Multiversus.

Even if it does end up being a fighting game as opposed to some mobile Gacha game, which is actually pretty possible (much to my disappointment, but hey what can I do), I think that the roster would genuinely suffer because of what it is.

    "Warner Bros." is too big.

Looking at something like Nickelodeon, Nintendo or even PlayStation, there's sort of a rough idea of certain characters and series who are more well-known than others. This is why, on a conceptual level, games like NASB, Ultimate and even PS All-Stars could work well.

The thing is, Multiversus couldn't add smaller characters. Like, at all. If they were to focus on something like Cartoon Network, Looney Tunes or even just WB movies, then I think it would work well - they're "self-contained" enough to, within reason, work, and having guest fighters like some Hanna-Barbera characters (such as Fred Flintstone) could work well too. The thing is, a full WB crossover would have so many "big characters" that, well, it would be literally impossible to have smaller or more obscure picks there, simply because of how much stuff WB owns.

As much as it's fun to speculate, I constantly feel like people's Multiversus concept rosters - whilst being incredibly cool (Seriously though, I love seeing people's concepts!) always seem to lack certain characters, and always for the same reason - mostly, "WB owns that much stuff that it wouldn't be possible to represent everything." It's not that they're making bad rosters - they're usually hella cool!! - it's just a matter that WB is too big.

Personally, if I were WB, I'd probably stick to something like Cartoon Network. Even so, I'm hopeful it goes well... and that it isn't some gacha game

I would make it strictly animation but taking equally from WAG, Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies, Cartoon Network, and Hanna Barbera. That way there's still the big crossover aspect but it's not ridiculous or excludes oddball picks. Don't think I'd put in much Adult Swim though, but that's just personal bias.

To be honest, that sounds like a pretty solid mix. Even I (a diehard [as] fan) would only add like, maybe two characters at most (Absolutely has to have Space Ghost due to Hanna-Barbera history and [as] legacy) and the idea of that much animation coming together sounds like a really cool crossover - but not too big for its own good.
I think that Pyra and Mythra are actually a surprisingly good example of how "echoes" could be handled in future installments.

Unlike characters like Dark Pit, Lucina and Daisy, who are essentially carbon copies with different models and the occasional different animation, or even more popular echoes like Chrom and Dark Samus (EVEN THOUGH IT HAS ITS OWN PROBLEMS), the pair actually work pretty well because of how they're used.

Notably, I think that having them have the same basic toolkit works well - but an aspect I especially like is how they differ in damage output, lag, knockback and other such matters, whilst maintaining the same baseline animations. It's, to me at least, a clever way of handling the echo formula - and a great way to further differentiate the fighters without having to expend too many resources. Then, having different specials on top of that essentially differentiates them enough to the point where they feel different enough to be their "own characters," despite needing nowhere near as much work as other, more "unique" fighters.

For example, let's look at Lucina. As opposed to having her play essentially identically to Marth (aside from the tipper mechanic, of course,) what if her attacks were slightly slower, but dealt a bit more damage despite having similar knockback? It would at least make her a different beast - more equivalent perhaps to Roy, but with her own benefits and drawbacks. (For clarification, I haven't actually played Awakening, so this could genuinely be a bad suggestion in my part - it was just the idea that came to me given her playstyle and what I do know about her.)
